Another beautiful success stories here at AristaCare East Falls. Ms. Lisa admitted to AristaCare East Falls in December 2025 with a diagnosis of COPD and respiratory failure. Upon admission, Lisa was unable to eat or drink food by mouth, she required Maximum level assistance with ADL tasks of dressing, bathing, and toileting. Lisa also required Maximum level of assistance with all aspects of functional mobility tasks such as bed mobility, transfers, and ambulation. Additionally, Lisa required 40% oxygen via trach collar to meet her respiratory needs. Throughout her short 2 month rehabilitative stay Lisa showed significant improvement in all aspects of care. Speech therapy was able to advance her diet to regular texture food and thin liquids, and she was able to tolerate PMV all day long to be able to vocalize her needs and have conversational speech. Respiratory therapy was able to wean down her oxygen needs and she is returning home on 28% trach collar with supplemental oxygen. Physical therapy facilitated improved strength, balance, and independence with mobility. Lisa is able to perform bed mobility with independence, transfers with supervision and 75 feet ambulation with RW with Min assist. Lisa was even able to complete car transfer training to be able to return home in family car. Occupational therapy facilitated improved independence with ADLs, Lisa is now performing dressing, toileting and grooming tasks with supervision level assist and cues for sequencing. Lisa made great progress in a short amount of time and we wish her all the best in her transition home with family!
