🌟SUCCESS AT EAST FALLS🌟

Leroy Tyndale D/C to home with family!

Leroy admitted to AristaCare East Falls in the beginning of May s/p hospitalization due to respiratory failure. At time of admission Leroy was unable to perform ambulation, required moderate level of assistance with bed mobility and maximal level of assist with transfers, additionally Leyroy required extensive level of assistance with dressing and bathing and hygiene tasks. Leroy initially had tracheostomy in place with the need for 50% supplemental oxygen to meet his respiratory needs. Throughout his stay at East Falls Leroy made significant progress in all aspects of care. Through the dedication of and skill of our amazing respiratory team, he was gradually weaned down to just 2 liters of oxygen and successfully decannulated- an incredible milestone achieved in just 12 days. Physical therapy helped to facilitate improved independence with transfers and ambulation and at time of D/C Leroy is performing 150+ feet ambulation with RW and supervision, and is able to ascend/descend a full flight of stairs using 1 hand rail, and even performed transfer training and is able to travel to home in his families car. Occupational therapy facilitated improved independence with activities of daily living, and Leroy is able to perform all bathing, dressing, and toileting tasks with little to no assistance. Leroy also worked with speech therapy and improved upon communication s/p decannulation, and improved cognition and safety awareness. We are proud to celebrate his progress and the compassionate care that made it possible, here at AristaCare East Falls. Congratulations to Mr. Leroy Tyndale. 🎉
