In 2021, Alicia was diagnosed with hormone positive breast cancer while pregnant with her daughter, Journi.

What followed was a season of unimaginable strength — navigating a high-risk pregnancy, undergoing a lumpectomy and chemotherapy in her third trimester, and continuing treatment after giving birth. Through it all, one truth carried her forward: she was fighting for two lives.

That experience became the heart behind Journi For Two — a nonprofit created to support pregnant women and mothers navigating cancer. From emotional support and advocacy to thoughtfully curated care baskets and restorative retreats, Journi For Two ensures no mother walks this journey alone.

Alicia’s story is a powerful reminder that self-advocacy saves lives, healing goes beyond the physical, and community changes everything.

March 6 is World Lymphedema Day 💙

Lymphedema is often misunderstood — and frequently confused with normal post-surgical swelling. While swelling after breast surgery is part of healing, lymphedema is a chronic condition caused by damage to the lymphatic system, often after cancer treatment.

Awareness, early detection, and compassionate support matter.

At AnaOno, we believe breast health conversations belong in lingerie spaces — and education helps us support women through every stage of healing and care.

What is Triple Negative Breast Cancer?

We’re honored to partner with to raise awareness for Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) — an aggressive subtype of breast cancer that is estrogen receptor-negative, progesterone receptor-negative, and HER2-negative.

To determine your breast cancer subtype, doctors test for the presence (or absence) of these receptors. Because TNBC does not have any of them, common targeted treatments like tamoxifen (estrogen-targeting) and trastuzumab/Herceptin (HER2-targeting) are not effective. Chemotherapy has been shown to be one of the most effective treatments for TNBC.

Most TNBC cases have what’s called a “basal-like” genetic pattern, meaning the cancer cells resemble the cells lining the milk ducts — though not all TNBC is basal-like, and not all basal-like cancers are triple-negative.

Awareness matters. Research matters. Support matters.

1. Know your body. Understanding what feels normal to you matters most.
2. Notice something abnormal? Call your doctor to review.
3. If something feels off, advocate for yourself and ask for additional screening — knowing is always better than not knowing.
4. If a lump, bump, or skin change leads to a diagnosis, seek out resources to help guide you.

March is also National Breast Implant Awareness Month, a time to stay informed about implant health, understand potential risks, and monitor changes in your body. If you have implants or reconstruction, routine self-checks and open conversations with your provider are essential.
