Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia

Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia Est. 1983, AVP is a victim service agency that provides free support services to victims of violence.

Since 1983, the mission of Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia (AVP) has been to reduce the cycle of violence by providing an array of intervention, prevention, and support services to people of all ages who have been a victim of violence and/or have lost a loved one to homicide. AVP does so through its three main service deliveries: Victim/Witness Services, Counseling Services, and Youth Se

rvices. These services include, but are not limited to, court accompaniment, support groups, individual and group therapy, and system advocacy. AVP’s dedicated team of professional victim advocates, therapists, and counselors –many of whom identify as victims/survivors– take a holistic approach to victimization by providing integrated, comprehensive, and collaborative services. Through client support, institutional partnerships, and community relationships, AVP addresses not only the emotional, safety, and financial needs of crime victims and survivors, but the underlying factors of violence and trauma of victimization to promote meaningful healing and advance community safety.

Our Workforce Development Program kicked off this morning — and what a powerful start! We’re thrilled to be a worksite for , in partnership with and ’s Summer Youth Employment Program. 💼✨

Over the next 6 weeks, we're welcoming 25–30 amazing young people (ages 14–19) for a personal and professional development workshop series that will explore:

Today is the last day of National Gun Violence Awareness Month. Today is also the last day of our fiscal year. Please consider supporting AVP before midnight, so that we can continue to serve over 2,000 Philadelphians impacted by violence in the next year.

Earlier this month, our AVP team joined fellow grantees at Millersville University for the Pennsylvania Safer Communities Project, an initiative aimed at strengthening community-based responses to gun violence throughout the Commonwealth.

Together, we’re working to ensure that frontline organizations have the resources, tools, and support they need to address violence before it happens.

In Philadelphia, AVP is proud to provide over 600 free gun locks each year, as part of a larger mission to create safer neighborhoods grounded in care, not punishment.

Gun violence is preventable. Community safety is possible. Wear orange. Speak up. Take action. 🧡

We’re still glowing from our first-ever Hope in Motion 5K Run/Walk & Community Resource Fair this past Saturday! 🤩 Despite the weather, the energy was unstoppable. We ran, we danced, we connected—and we honored survivors.

This powerful event marked the culmination of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, a time to uplift survivors, center healing, and call for justice, equity, and access for all victims of crime. The 2025 theme, “How We Come Together: Building Relationships, Supporting Communities, and Pursuing Justice,” was at the heart of everything Hope in Motion stood for. Kinship, movement, and community were in full force.

We’re deeply grateful to our generous sponsors who made this event 100% FREE for our community: National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators and the Office for Victims of Crime, , , , and . Thank you also to those whose support fueled every step: , via ShopRite, and (official energy drink of the )

To our incredible community partners and friends who participated, volunteered, tabled, and helped bring resources, support, and joy to this event—thank you for showing up and showing out. We are honored to be in this work with you.

Shoutout to the dynamic energy team for keeping our spirits high and hearts full.

This was just the beginning. Next year: more runners, more walkers, more healing, more joy—fewer clouds.

📣 FLY EAGLES FLY! 🦅🏆

The Philadelphia Eagles have soared to Super Bowl victory, and we couldn’t be prouder of our hometown champions! 💚🎉 Beyond the game, the Eagles are true leaders in our community, standing with nonprofits like ours to create a stronger, safer Philadelphia.

This past fall, they invited our Executive Director, Natasha Danielá de Lima McGlynn, to kick off their Eagles Care Summit Speaker Series, where she highlighted the impactful work we do to support co-victims, victims, and survivors every day. Their commitment to uplifting organizations like Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia shows that teamwork extends far beyond the field.

💬 Drop a 🦅 in the comments if you're celebrating this win! And let’s keep the momentum going—just like the Eagles, we believe in community, resilience, and never backing down.
