SHM gold member ambassador, Dr. Christopher Smith, shares his passion for hospital medicine, from the memorable positives and early challenges of medical school to the teamwork and growth he experienced on the wards, all the way to where he stands today. 🌟
He first joined SHM on the recommendation of peers, and now he’s paying it forward. When asked about his favorite part of being an SHM member, he shared: “Opportunities for engaging with hospitalists outside of the local community can be limited, and SHM is a great pathway for meeting and connecting with others.”

Our next spotlight features Dr. Amanda Marchica! 🎊 She currently is the chair for her health system’s Provider Council, where she represents and advocates for clinicians across the organization. Additionally, she founded a Women’s Leadership Group that has grown significantly over the past several years and serves as a platform for mentorship, professional development, and community building.
