We are so excited to announce that Dr Stephanie Valentino has joined our team as an acupuncture veterinarian! She will be seeing appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays starting this week, which means we have significantly increased acupuncture availability, including some evening times! Please join us in wishing Dr. Valentino the warmest welcome (back) to WAG!

Stephanie Valentino, DVM is a South Jersey native and earned her DVM degree from North Carolina State University in 2021. Prior to attending veterinary school, she got her start as an assistant at WAG in 2014, which sparked her passion for holistic medicine. She is trained in veterinary acupuncture through Chi University and works in general practice with special interests in chronic pain management and internal medicine.

We invite you to join us for a 75 minute restorative gentle flow and Mindfulness class taking place at WAG on 7/27 at 5:30pm. The class will be a fundraiser for our scholarship program, Minnie’s Amazing Gift, with a suggested minimum donation of $25 per participant. Due to space constraints, the class will be limited to 10 participants, so be sure to sign up soon!

Ji Sun has taught Yoga to WAG’s staff in the past, and we are so thrilled to welcome her back and to welcome our friends and clients to practice with her!

is a sweet lil guy looking for his forever home. He was found covered in pepper spray and intrepidly crossing Broad Street in Philly. He is currently being fostered by a WAG provider and ready for adoption!

- ~8 years old
- housebroken
- crate trained (but doesn’t need it, respectful in the house)
- LOVES other dogs, all sizes
- great with people/excellent cuddler and loves pets
- good with cats
- good with horses
- Very social and friendly but not anxious, happy to hang with you and do adventures, but fine chilling on his own or amusing himself with a ball
- UTD on shots

He will be at Perkasie First Friday this Friday if you would like to meet him!

He is available to adopt through Harley’s Haven Rescue (https://www.harleyshavendogrescue.com/). They recommend using anything but an iPhone to fill out their adoption app.

May 14th is Chihuahua Appreciation Day! We’re here to appreciate both the breed as a whole and a few of our superstar patients, Stanley, Carlos, and Ducky. Enjoy these pictures and videos of Stanley past and present living his best life both at WAG and at home, as well as Carlos and Ducky making themselves at home at WAG!

We have also included some Chihuahua fun facts below.

If you are blessed with a Chihuahua in your life please share something you love about them, and feel free to tag us if you have a cute pic!

* Two coat varieties: smooth (short-haired) and long-haired coats – Guess which our featured patients are!
* There are specific words used for the hair on those long-hair Chihuahuas: on the tips of the ears is called “fringe,” on their legs it is known as “furnishings” or “pants,” and the fluff on their tail is called the “plume.”
* Intelligent and Trainable: Chihuahuas are smart and can be trained to perform tricks and learn commands — these little guys often do great with their rehab exercise programs.
* The ratio of brain to body size makes this breed known as the one with the largest sized brain.
* Long Lifespans: Chihuahuas typically live between 12 and 20 years. Stanley and Carlos are both over 17!
