What would you do if war suddenly broke out while you were traveling abroad?

When airports shut down, airlines go silent, and transportation systems grind to a halt, knowing what to do next can make all the difference.

In this new article from Forbes, written by Christopher Elliott, travel experts share practical guidance for travelers caught in rapidly changing and dangerous situations overseas.

Proud to see Bob Bacheler, Managing Director of Flying Angels, contributing his expertise on navigating emergency travel situations and getting people home safely.

An important read for anyone traveling internationally, especially worth sharing with friends or family preparing for a trip abroad.

The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) Annual Assembly in San Diego once again proved to be a meaningful and inspiring gathering. With over 2,500 attendees, standing-room-only sessions, comforting pet therapy visits, and beautiful live musical presentations, the tone was set for an extraordinary three days.

Hospice and palliative care professionals hold a truly special place in healthcare. At every level, they provide compassionate, holistic care that addresses not only the physical needs of patients with serious illness, but also the emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of suffering. Their commitment to dignity, comfort, and quality of life, while also supporting families through grief and bereavement, sets them apart in remarkable ways.

It was an honor for Bob Bacheler and Karen Marie Derr to represent Flying Angels, engage in thoughtful and inspiring conversations, and share how our team can come alongside healthcare providers, patients, and their families to offer the support and assistance they seek.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the entire AAHPM team for hosting such a thoughtfully organized and inspiring conference.

March is Social Work Month, and the 2026 theme, “Social Work: Uplift. Defend. Transform.”, could not be more powerful.

Healthcare social workers stand beside patients and families during some of life’s most challenging and vulnerable moments. They are essential members of every care team.

They uplift patients and families with compassion and steady support.
They defend dignity, access to care, and patient rights.
They help transform fear into understanding and crisis into a path forward.

Flying Angels extends its heartfelt gratitude to every social worker for being the calm in the storm and the advocate when it matters most.

It was truly an honor to exhibit at the 2026 Palliative Care and Hospice Symposium in Miami, FL last week. Flying Angels Director of Business Development, Karen Marie Derr was deeply grateful for the warm welcome extended by the Baptist Health South Florida event leadership team (Julie, Katie, Christine, and Micaela) and for the meaningful, heartfelt conversations she shared with attendees.

The dedication shown by the palliative care and hospice community is nothing short of inspiring. Being surrounded by industry partners and professionals who approach vulnerable patients and their families with such compassion, advocacy, and thoughtful care coordination was a powerful reminder of why collaboration matters so much.

Events like this do more than bring people together, they strengthen partnerships, elevate standards of care, and ultimately improve outcomes for the patients and families we are all privileged to serve. It was wonderful to be part of such a meaningful gathering.
