The 2026 Case Management Society of America - CMSA-Chicago Conference is officially in the books!

This year’s theme, “From Playbook to Practice: Turning Strategy into Patient Impact,” set the tone for an engaging and dynamic event. A strong lineup of speakers and thoughtfully curated topics, combined with exhibitors who embraced the sports theme in creative and immersive ways, made for an exceptional experience for everyone in attendance.

Looking ahead, there’s a palpable sense of excitement surrounding the chapter’s newly announced name change to CMSA Mid-America, now formally expanding to include Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Sincere appreciation goes out to the entire leadership team for delivering yet another outstanding conference. Here’s to continued momentum!

See you all in 2027!

Bob Bacheler, Managing Director for Flying Angels, greatly enjoyed attending the Aging Life Care Association® (ALCA) National Conference in Austin, TX last week. A highlight was a surprise visit from his mother, who stopped by to give him a hug making an already meaningful week even more special.

The conference offered a valuable opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners and meet new professionals who may turn to Flying Angels for clients needing assistance traveling for medical treatment or to be closer to family. The conversations, collaboration, and shared commitment to improving quality of life for older adults made the event especially impactful.

Special thanks to the ALCA staff and leadership for a well-run event, including informative sessions, exhibitor time, and the beautiful evening cruise. Flying Angels deeply values its role in the aging life care community and appreciates the opportunity to support care managers and families.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year in Atlanta, GA.

The opportunity to provide webinars and in-service trainings for organizations and hospitals is always an honor. Next Thursday, Bob Bacheler will be doing just that—presenting to hundreds of CSA professionals.

Coordinating transportation for clients or patients can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s not something you handle regularly. Having a clear understanding of the transportation coordination process, and the options available, can make a meaningful difference, enabling you to choose the most appropriate and effective solution for those you serve and care for.

We invite you to join this informative webinar by registering at: https://www.csa.us/events/category/webinar/

Bob Bacheler and Doug Whithed were honored to represent Flying Angels at Friday’s 18th Annual “On Angels’ Wings” Gala. We extend our sincere thanks to Ellen Williams, Executive Director of Angel Flight East, for the kind invitation to be part of such a meaningful event.

Angel Flight is a nonprofit organization dedicated to public benefit flying, providing free air transportation to individuals who need specialized medical care. Through a nationwide network of volunteer pilots who generously donate their time, aircraft, and fuel, Angel Flight helps patients travel, often long distances, for critical, non-emergency treatment.

The organization primarily supports those facing financial, physical, or logistical challenges, ensuring they can access the care they need. Beyond medical transport, Angel Flight has also been active in delivering essential supplies to disaster-stricken areas and helping reunite families during times of crisis.

Sometimes, the smallest moments create the biggest impact.

When traveling with a loved one living with dementia, even a delay can feel overwhelming—but the right caregiver can transform everything.

Here’s what one family shared about their experience with Audrey, one of Flying Angels' compassionate and highly skilled flight nurses.

We’re grateful for the families who have taken the time to share their experiences. If you’d like to read their stories, you can find them here: https://lnkd.in/gTrp6Fcn,,,,

Flying Angels is honored to support Air Care Alliance and the many public benefit flying organizations that serve patients across the country, including Angel Flight, LifeLine Pilots, the Volunteer Pilots Association, and many others.

These volunteer pilots share a remarkable mission: helping patients reach medical care when other transportation options are not feasible. Whether due to financial limitations, long travel distances, rural locations without commercial air service, or medical conditions, such as being immunocompromised, that make commercial travel unsafe, these pilots step in to provide a vital lifeline.

Flying Angels is deeply grateful, every day, for the compassion, generosity, and dedication you bring to this important work.
