✨ What is Diastasis Recti? ✨
Diastasis recti is the separation of the abdominal muscles that often happens during or after pregnancy, but it can affect anyone. It may cause core weakness, back pain, or a visible bulge in the stomach area.

💡 The good news? Physical therapy can help! With guided exercises, education, and hands-on care, we work to restore core strength, improve posture, and support your body’s healing process.

👉 Don’t ignore the signs—your core deserves care!

Strong glutes and a strong pelvic floor can go hand in hand. 🍑 💪🏼 ✨
Your glutes help stabilize the pelvis and support posture, while your pelvic floor provides the foundation for core strength, bladder control, and overall stability. When trained together, they work as a powerful team to keep your body moving and functioning at its best.🙌🏼

✨We would like to formerly introduce our newest Physical Therapist here at ATP- Dr. Risha Bhakta ✨

Dr. Risha is a passionate and dedicated physical therapist who earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Drexel University in the spring of 2025. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from The Pennsylvania State University.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Risha began her journey in healthcare working in PT clinics throughout LA before making the move to the East Coast to pursue her doctoral studies. Her West Coast roots are still close to her heart—especially her love of sunshine and staying active! ☀️
When she’s not helping patients move and feel better, you’ll likely find Risha running on the Schuylkill river, at the gym, or playing sports with her PT friends. Off the clock, she enjoys cozy evenings with her cat, sipping tea, watching her favorite shows, and discovering new food spots around the city with college friends.

You can now book with Dr. Risha online at www.aptphilly.com 🧡💙

🧘‍♀️Signs of Pelvic Organ Prolapse 👇🏼

Pelvic organ prolapse happens when the muscles and tissues that support your pelvic organs weaken, allowing them to drop lower into the pelvis.

✨Common signs include:
• A feeling of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis
• Bulging or “something coming down”
• Difficulty emptying the bladder or bowels
• Lower back or pelvic discomfort
• Symptoms that worsen after standing or at the end of the day

If you’re noticing any of these signs, you’re not alone- and help is available. Pelvic floor physical therapy can be a gentle, effective way to improve, support and reduce symptoms.

Leaking when you laugh, cough, or jump? 🏃‍♀️💦 It’s common, but not normal. These are signs of pelvic floor dysfunction, and they can seriously impact your quality of life.

Your pelvic floor muscles support your bladder, uterus, and bowels. When they’re weak or not coordinating properly, it can lead to leaking, pressure, or even pain.

✨ Pelvic floor physical therapy can help retrain these muscles so you feel stronger, more confident, and in control.

Let’s stop normalizing leaks—and start healing. 💪💗
