For Disability Pride Month, First-Person Reflections on Disability Self-Advocacy: In these essays, writers with communication-related disabilities — and, in some cases, their family members — describe rising to challenges by speaking up for themselves and other disabled people. The package also includes perspectives of CSD professionals associated with these writers.
The related illustration depicts the Disability Pride flag, with color bands representing red for physical disabilities, gold for neurodiversity, white for invisible and undiagnosed disabilities, blue for emotional and psychiatric disabilities, and green for sensory disabilities.
