It’s the season to remind folks, life and business are more than a win-lose scenario. We all have wins and losses, and just because one person got a client doesn’t mean the next practitioner has to make less $. Seems like every 3-4 months another practitioner in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Cattiness looses their mind, gets uppity and antagonistic that SPW exists and offers services in 19148. SPW turned 10 this year, and we aren’t going away any time soon. We didn’t survive a pandemic and more to roll up over a few cutting comments. Here are a few incredible figures to chew on- Philly has 1.5 million people. 726,000 residents of Philadelphia county are women over age 16. 192,000 Philadelphians identify as LGBTQIA+. Only 11-19% of all Americans received a massage in 2024. WHY DO THESE NUMBERS MATTER? It means there is plenty of pie ( aka clients ) for everyone who has a passion to support these communities holistically and with integrity. South Philly Wellness is not here for petty competition, backbiting, cut throat theft of copy, swiping product formulas and equipment, rude comments on practitioners body shapes, demeaning others based on classroom hours, choices of modality, total hours of hands on practice, or skin tone. We need MORE bodyworkers who bring knowledge, kindness and expertise to offer bodywork within their niche of people, bringing positivity and comfort to those who are feeling out of balance in this F’d up world. SPW cares about issues affecting women’s health and LGBTQIA bodies and wants to make sure every human is welcomed into a space where all bodies are accepted and supported with love and grace. It is Harvest Season, time to roll the dough and fill your pie, then invite others around you to share that sweet, sweet wealth.( human connection not $$$) The alternative is being a sour grape rotting on the social media vine, bitter, resentful and struggling to live your best life.
