July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the unique mental health challenges faced by BIPOC communities.

Stigma, lack of access, and cultural barriers often prevent people from getting the help they need.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we create safe, affirming spaces where every story is welcomed, and every voice matters.

🧠 Healing should never be a privilege; it’s a right.

We offer trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care to help every individual heal with dignity, trust, and respect.

💙 You’re not alone. Let’s break the silence, together.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we believe that healing doesn’t just happen in a room; it happens out in the world.

Our recent outing to Tyler State Park is a perfect example of how Adventure Therapy helps our clients reconnect with nature, with each other, and with themselves.

Adventure Therapy taps into the power of the outdoors to support recovery. Whether it's hiking a trail or paddling a river, these experiences build:

• Self-confidence
• Emotional resilience
• Trust and teamwork
• A renewed sense of freedom in sobriety

Each outing is a step toward rediscovering joy and purpose, sober.

Swipe to see highlights from our day at Tyler State Park, and the real moments of connection that happen when we step outside the usual.

📍If you or a loved one is looking for a different kind of recovery experience, we’re here to help.

PTSD is often misunderstood.

It’s not just about veterans or extreme trauma—it can happen to anyone who has experienced a deeply distressing event.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we understand that for many people, trauma and substance use are deeply connected.

Here’s what PTSD can actually look like:

🔹 Nightmares or flashbacks that feel all too real
🔹 Avoiding places, people, or situations that bring back memories
🔹 Feeling constantly on edge, jumpy, or easily startled
🔹 Struggling with guilt, shame, or negative thoughts
🔹 Withdrawing from family, friends, or activities you used to enjoy

When trauma goes unaddressed, it can fuel the cycle of addiction, numbing the pain, but never healing the wounds. That’s why we offer trauma-informed addiction treatment, combining individual therapy, group support, and family involvement to help you heal both the addiction and the trauma that may be driving it.

💙 You are not alone, and recovery is possible.

Today, on Juneteenth, we honor the strength, resilience, and enduring contributions of Black Americans—and we reflect on the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and justice.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we recognize that addiction impacts all communities in unique ways.

Black individuals have historically faced systemic barriers to accessing addiction treatment, including stigma, limited resources, and unequal care.

As a center focused on substance use treatment and recovery, we are committed to providing compassionate, in-person care for all individuals, in an environment that respects the unique experiences and challenges faced by each person.

Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with those working for equity in healthcare, and we honor the resilience of all who seek freedom from addiction.

💙 Let’s continue the work together—today and every day.

June is PTSD Awareness Month—a time to honor the strength of those living with invisible wounds.

Did you know that around 6% of people in the U.S. will experience PTSD at some point in their lives? (National Center for PTSD)

For many, PTSD isn’t just about trauma—it’s about how they cope.

Unaddressed trauma can lead to substance use, as individuals seek relief from overwhelming pain, memories, and emotions.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we offer in-person, trauma-informed addiction treatment that helps clients break the cycle of addiction and find real, lasting healing.

If you’ve been through trauma, know this:
Your pain is valid. Your story matters.
And recovery is possible.

💙 Let’s take the first step together.

New day. New chance. 🌅

Recovery doesn’t happen all at once—it begins with a single step. Whether today’s step is big or small, it’s a step toward healing.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to keep moving. Progress looks different for everyone, and that’s okay.

You’re not alone in this journey. 💚

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country.

We also acknowledge the invisible wounds many veterans carry—trauma, grief, addiction, and the weight of transition to civilian life.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we stand with all who have served, offering in-person, trauma-informed addiction treatment for those facing the challenges of substance use alongside mental health conditions like PTSD, anxiety, or depression.

Today and every day, we honor the courage of those who serve—and the strength it takes to seek help.

💚 If you or someone you love is struggling, we’re here to help.

Substance use prevention doesn’t just happen in schools or clinics—it happens in living rooms, communities, and honest conversations.

During National Prevention Week, we’re reminded that early education, open dialogue, and accessible care can change lives before addiction takes hold.

At Peace Valley Recovery, we believe in prevention just as much as we believe in recovery. Every conversation matters.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s a powerful reminder that addiction and mental health are deeply connected.

Many people struggling with substance use are also battling depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other conditions. At Peace Valley Recovery, we believe true recovery means treating the whole person—not just the addiction.

If you or someone you love needs support, we’re here to help—compassionately and confidentially. 💚
