Helen O'Grady, age 90, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on October 23rd, 2025. Faithful parishioner of her beloved parish, St. Timothy for many years. There was a beautiful sendoff for a local woman from a very nice family. She lived in Pennypack for many years, was a parishioner of St. Dominic, had three children and many grandchildren. The gathering was respectful and the funeral mass was the same. A beautiful Fall day seems to signify a change is coming to us all, very soon....Life is full of change....births, deaths, weddings, funerals. Recognizing the beauty in each of our life changing events (like funerals) enhances these experiences and registers them in our minds as a component of who we are....what makes us "us". Gathering in church saying goodbye, and honoring a life well lived, fills the hearts of those attending. It's what we do as a civilized people. There is beauty in funerals....you just have to recognize it.

I can't imagine having to navigate the death of a loved one in a foreign country. Miroslaw K. Prawdzik passed away on October 14th, 2025, in Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. His family will have him cremated and will es**rt his cremated remains back to his homeland, Poland, where he will be laid to rest. We try to advise those experiencing this difficult circumstance with information and kindness, which is exactly what we would hope for should we ever be in that same situation.

When you work a funeral you hear the conversations of those attending. "Nice guy" "I really liked him" "Good dude" "Things won't be the same without him" over and over again...so many people saying things just like that. Well, the departed was a nice guy, he was well liked....he was a guy that you couldn't not like. We took care of his beloved wife when she passed away a few years back. He was as genuine and easy to talk with as anybody you'd ever want to meet...and that was during an extremly difficult time for him. His ashes, along with his late wife's were placed into one single urn (his idea) Today, his daughter eulogized the departed in front of a crowded house of mourners. She spoke from the heart and did a phenomenal job. As I was looking at the many pictures that were setup for the memorial, I came to realize that at all points in your life, pictures represent you at that particular time. We live many lives during our lifetimes....but my guess is that during the time of each one of these pictures, Stosh was always a nice guy.
