The same thing was said in our funeral home today many times over. "Such a nice guy - heart of gold - never said a bad word about anybody". The departed was a nice guy, who came from a family that is straight aces. The Father Judge community came out in tremendous numbers to say farewell to a Judge Guy who earned that designation on the football field while attending this great school and befriending anyone he came across. The departed was eulogized by his brother, eloquently, while the pictures of his late parents and brother were right behind him. He was speaking for his whole family to a packed funeral home and he represented them well. While his urn was carried out to the hearse, his young nephew carried his uncle's FJ football helmet....which was just beautiful. Forgive me for repeating myself...but it needs to be stated. We grew up with the best people, Father Judge is the best school and we are very lucky. Feeling lucky at a funeral seems counter intuitive...but I'm sure I'm not alone with this feeling. He was laid to rest along side his beloved parents in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

Jean Marie Dorestant, age 46, passed away after struggling with illness on July 20, 2025. He is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, siblings and family. Jean was a police officer in Haiti who served his community for many years. He will be dearly missed by all. A matriarch of a wonderful Irish family passed away. Originally from Fairmount, the departed, along with her late husband, raised her children in Wissinoming, had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everyone in attendance was wearing green to honor her Irish heritage. The reposing of her remains included the following: beautiful green shirt, four leaf clover scarf, green low top chuck taylors (Phillie Phanatic'ish) and a beautiful green and gold casket. She was a beautiful soul, loved by many for her legendary personality. While at the cemetery before her casket was lowered, it came to everyone's attention that another Philadelphia Irish legend was laid to rest a few graves away.... Cornelius McGillicuddy

We just finished funeral preparation for a woman of Irish heritage. I wish (just once) that people could witness the level of respect we give to the departed while we are caring for them. Irish music was playing, it was not somber, just diligent effort in making sure that the loved one of survivors is honored through out the whole process....not just the funeral. You would be extremely proud to call our family your undertaker.
