The little girl in this photo (she's now 22 years old) had to eulogize her father (also in the picture) today at our funeral home. When he passed away, at the age of 43, the young lady came in to handle and settle arrangements for her father's final sendoff (with the help of her aunt). I've said many times before, that when young kids (they are kids) handle services and planning for their parents, I'm always impressed and in awe. But this girl was exceptional. She was poised, respectful, wise in her language, discussions and decisions. I have a daughter her age and can not imagine her having to endure that experience. I told her that if she can handle this situation with grace, she can accomplish anything in her life....and now she has a guardian angel guiding her.

This is our Golden, Leila. She is 12 years old and has lived her entire life in our/her funeral home....this is her house. She is protective of us and this property, but she is quiet, respectful and reserved when in the viewing room. I don't know what she knows or thinks...but she knows something. She looks toward caskets and the departed souls that we serve, almost knowing that there needs to be reverence and dignity. I can't explain it...but it's 100% true.
