Roxborough Community Acupuncture

Roxborough Community Acupuncture We now offer all treatments in a private setting. We offer a Sliding Scale for Acupuncture at $50-$ At least a third of the world uses it as healthcare.

Acupuncture has been in continual use as a powerfully effective form of healthcare for at least 3,000 years. Some estimates date Acupuncture’s origins to be over 5,000 years old. Acupuncture is simple, and powerful. It helps the body to return to balance. The Chinese discovered, long ago, a series of pathways and acupuncture points that have an influence over the functions of other parts of not ju

st the body, but also the sense of mental and emotional well being. By using extremely fine, disposable, stainless steel needles, placed into carefully selected acupuncture points, the acupuncturist coaxes subtle changes in the body. This brings about changes in body function, and encourages the body toward homeostatic balance. Many things begin to change as a result of acupuncture therapy: patients begin to sleep better, experience less pain and stress in daily life, moods begin to become more predictable and balanced, addictive behaviors begin to lose their grip, overall body function improves: digestion, breathing, elimination, circulation, menstrual cycles…all begin to normalize. Out of these subtle changes, the body’s ability to heal itself is restored, and enhanced, and THAT is why acupuncture works so well. The results are usually immediate. Sometimes pain that had been present for many years is suddenly gone. Often it is progressive…meaning that after several treatments, the pain has gotten better each time and gradually goes away, or at least loses it’s grip over someone’s life.

“Dear Human:
You've got it all wrong.

You didn't come here to master unconditional love. This is where you came from and where you'll return.

You came here to learn personal love.
Universal love.
Messy love.
Sweaty Love.
Crazy love.
Broken love.
Whole love.
Infused with divinity.
Lived through the grace of stumbling.
Demonstrated through the beauty of... messing up.
Often.

You didn't come here to be perfect, you already are.

You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous.

And rising again into remembering.

But unconditional love? Stop telling that story.

Love in truth doesn't need any adjectives.
It doesn't require modifiers.
It doesn't require the condition of perfection.

It only asks you to show up.
And do your best.
That you stay present and feel fully.
That you shine and fly and laugh and cry and hurt and heal and fall and get back up and play and work and live and die as YOU.

Its enough.

It's Plenty.”

CLINIC CLOSURE.

Out of an abundance of caution I am closing the clinic until at least the end of March.

I've debated this all week and carefully considered the options to help keep us all safe. In the end I have decided to temporarily close the clinic to insure that we help with the principal of social distancing to slow the spread of the Corona Virus. Acupuncturists all around the country have been debating and conferring and many are going to close for at least 2 weeks while we wait to see how the spread of the virus affects the country.

As you may have read, the Corona Virus (Covid-19) can be carried with no symptoms for many days. Symptoms are primarily fever, dry cough, sore throat and shortness of breath. Many people, perhaps most, will have only a mild case. The danger lies in passing the virus unknowingly to the elderly population, as well as to people who are immuno-compromised, smokers, asthmatics, etc. Serious complications of Covid-19 include pneumonia, permanent lung damage, and death.

Should you display symptoms of coronavirus, including fever, dry cough, sore throat or difficulty breathing, it is essential that you seek immediate medical attention to receive a proper diagnose and treatment.

By minimizing contact with each other we are minimizing and slowing the spread of the virus and helping to keep our hospital system from being suddenly overwhelmed with serious cases as we have seen in Italy. The US is not prepared with testing or adequate numbers of hospital beds per capita to handle sudden influxes of serious cases, so it is up to all of us to take measures to help each other out, especially the most vulnerable among us.

The virus can last 2-3 days on metal surfaces and up to 3 hours in the air. Simply talking can spread the virus. Coughing and sneezing can project it up to 20 feet from the host. Washing hands whenever you touch things while out in public and even at home is imperative to help stop the spread of the virus.

Combine these facts with the uncertainty of who does or does not have the virus and it is no wonder why events, travel, sports, schools, towns, counties, etc are closing down for an interim period.

We take your health and well being seriously and are making the economically difficult decision to close our clinic until we have a better understanding of what needs to be done to safeguard each of us and to help contribute to the best possible outcome for our community.

With love and wishes for your well-being,

Dave

We take the health of our patients, practitioners, staff and community seriously. Because of this, we want to ask for your help as well as let you know what we are doing to keep the clinic safe and clean.

Your part ..... If you are sick, don't come in! At any time, we ask that people not come in with cough, sneezing, sore throat, fever, or digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. We ask that you not come to the clinic until a minimum of 72 hours beyond any of these symptoms. We ask you to honor this request for the sake of everyone who comes here as well as their families and ours.

Symptoms of the Corona virus may be mild and can present as fever, cough, or shortness of breath. Please do not come in if you, or anyone in your household, has these symptoms- if anyone comes in presenting with these, we will send them home. No exceptions. If you've recently returned from an area with many infections, like Italy or China, please wait for 2 weeks before coming to the clinic.

We never charge late cancellation fees when patients cancel due to illness. If you are sick, please cancel your appointment and do not come in.

OUR PART - We are using disinfecting wipes and/or hospital grade disinfectant multiple times per day on surfaces, door k***s, counters, faucets, tables, stools, head cushions, chairs, etc. to make sure that we are keeping our office clean and safe for all. Table dressings are always clean for each patient, but if you prefer to bring your own sheet, that's fine.

Lastly, we are reminding people to please wash your hands in the bathroom before treatment or using a sq**rt of hand sanitizer which is at the front desk.

Thank you for your help and understanding!
