🧠 Parkinson’s disease is one of the most common neurological conditions affecting older adults.
According to Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, it occurs when certain brain cells that produce dopamine, a chemical responsible for coordinating movement, stop working or die. This leads to gradual changes in mobility and other body functions.
Parkinson’s is considered a progressive movement disorder, meaning symptoms typically develop slowly and change over time.
Some of the most common symptoms may include:
❗ Tremors or shaking in the hands or limbs
❗Slower movement and stiffness in muscles
❗Balance and walking difficulties
❗Changes in facial expression or speech
❗Non-movement symptoms such as sleep issues, depression, or memory changes
Although Parkinson’s currently has no cure, treatment, therapy, and supportive care can help people manage symptoms and maintain quality of life.
At Caring with Integrity Home Care, we understand how neurological conditions can affect both individuals and families. Our caregivers provide compassionate support for seniors living with Parkinson’s and other health conditions, helping them stay safe, comfortable, and supported at home.
