The Jacksonville Chapter of the Hampton University Alumni Association extends our condolences to the McKissick family and The Bethel Church on the passing of Lady Estelle McKissick. We were honored to call her a Pirate and recognize her as a distinguished Alumna of our "Home by the Sea". 💙⚓️💙

Gabrielle Harding, a high-flying alum, shattered the glass ceiling at 30,000 feet by becoming the sole Black female pilot from an HBCU program currently soaring through the skies for a commercial airline.

Her trailblazing journey from the halls of a historically Black institution to the cockpit of a commercial jet is a testament to her determination and the transformative power of HBCUs in nurturing and propelling exceptional talent.

Harding’s ascent has proved that the sky is truly the limit for those who dare to dream big. Her achievement serves as a beacon of inspiration, illuminating the runway for future generations to take flight and claim their place in the sky.
