Cross, board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with board scores that put him in the top three percent nationwide, graduated as an AOA honors society member from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He received his general surgery and plastic surgery training at Cornell University, with residencies at New York Presbyterian Hospital on Manhattan's Upper East Side, and Columbia University on the Upper West Side. With luminaries in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery as his mentors, Dr. Cross also practiced in the Park and 5th Avenue offices of his professors, as well as at Manhattan's Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital, two of the country's epicenters for cosmetic surgery. As a research fellow at Northwestern University, Dr. Cross conducted clinical studies on aging skin and techniques that promote fast, effective healing; he later acted as the primary investigator for the Tissue Regeneration Project at Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Cross has authored five textbook chapters and has published extensively on aspects of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, routinely presenting research results and papers at national meetings throughout the country. With his return to Philadelphia, Dr. Cross brings with him both traditional as well as the newest and most advanced techniques in esthetic surgery--ranging from surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation to body enhancement and body contouring procedures--and maintains an academic appointment at Cornell University Medical Center. His repertoire includes all areas of plastic surgery, especially facial procedures, breast augmentation and reduction, and the full complement of body procedures. Dr. Cross' philosophy centers on evaluating each procedure's approach through the lens of each patient's completely unique existing issues, as well as their hopes and goals. He then uses his breadth of experience to ensure that his patients receive long lasting, natural appearing results that reach their esthetic goals. Rather, the correct procedure must be chosen based on the needs of the individual. Dr. Cross believes that good plastic surgery means that a patient should not look as if they have had plastic surgery, rather they should look more harmonious and rejuvenated. Cheek implants aren’t always the best answer. In fact, they are RARELY the best answer, and that’s exactly why Dr. Cross doesn’t recommend them.

Faces naturally change over time. We lose fat, skin elasticity shifts, and the areas around the cheeks start to settle. Cheek implants stay exactly where they were placed, which can make them look too prominent, too high, or just out of balance as the face ages. What looks good at 35 might not look as natural at 50.

The goal isn’t just more volume, it’s the right volume in the right place.

Buccal fat removal: trendy? Yes.
For everyone? Absolutely not.

Dr. Cross breaks down what buccal fat removal actually does, and more importantly, who it’s right for.

Buccal fat removal targets the deeper fat pad in the lower cheek to create a more sculpted, contoured mid-to-lower face. When performed on the right candidate, it can:
▪️ Reduce lower cheek fullness
▪️ Enhance cheekbone definition
▪️ Create a more tapered facial shape

But here’s the key: it’s not about chasing trends - it’s about facial balance. Removing volume in the wrong patient can lead to premature hollowing and an overdone look.

The best results happen when the procedure is thoughtfully planned and customized to your facial anatomy.

Considering buccal fat removal? Let’s talk about whether it makes sense for you. Call Cross Medical Group to book your consultation today!

Cheek & Jawline Augmentation with Radiesse

Built like bone. Because that’s the point.

For this male patient, the goal wasn’t volume — it was structure. Stronger cheekbones. A sharper jawline. More definition without softening his features.

That’s where Radiesse shines.

Radiesse is calcium-based, which makes it ideal for areas that should feel firm and architectural - like the jawline and cheekbones. For masculine faces that need structural support over roundness, it’s a go-to.

Why it works so well for men:
- High G’ = powerful structural support
- Ideal for bony prominences (jawline, chin, cheeks)
- Immediate contour + collagen stimulation over time
- Holds its shape without over-rounding the face

Sharp angles ✅
Definition ✅
Minimal volume ✅

Subtle tweaks. Stronger structure. Still you — just more defined.
