We help after disasters, supply blood, teach lifesaving skills and serve veterans & military.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Region of the American Red Cross serves approximately 4.2 million people in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Our region provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of our armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving skills, collects lifesaving blood, and so much more. All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

During this season of giving, we're grateful for our partner Mastercard for inviting their customers to support our mission through the purchase of a "Give Hope" eGift Card. Now through October 2027, $2 from each card purchase will support disaster relief. Thank you, Mastercard, for standing with us to help those affected by disasters big and small, whenever and wherever they occur.

HOLIDAY SAFETY TIP - Candles are a part of many celebrations, but open flames make them dangerous if they tip over or when they are placed too close to anything that can burn.
🔋 Consider using battery-operated flameless candles, which can look, smell and feel like real candles.
🕯️ If you do use lit candles, make sure they are in stable holders and place them where they cannot be knocked down easily.
↔️ Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that burns.
🌬️ Blow out candles when you leave a room or home, or when you go to bed.
🛏️ Don't use lit candles in bedrooms, bathrooms and sleeping areas.
🔦 Use flashlights, not candles, if you have a power outage.

Each Memorial Day, our Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) volunteers honor those who served by placing flags on veterans’ graves at The Woodlands and Lower Merion Baptist Church cemeteries.
While much of our SAF work happens quietly behind the scenes, these flag-placing events are a powerful reminder of our roots; Clara Barton initially founded the American Red Cross to care for soldiers during battle and later led efforts to mark their graves after the Civil War.
We're always on the lookout for new volunteers! Yesterday, Community Outreach Team members Mary Ann, Patti and Mark Anthony represented the Red Cross at Penn State Brandywine's Volunteer Fair!
Imagine decades without hearing from the people you love. Most of us can’t stand being out of touch for even a day. We have cell phones, texts, and emails that keep us instantly connected. But what if a disaster, conflict, or humanitarian crisis separated you from your family—and years went by without answers?
That’s where Red Cross casework volunteers like Robert and Margot step in. Through the Restoring Family Links program, they work tirelessly to reunite families torn apart by unimaginable circumstances. And when a reunion isn’t possible, they help provide something just as important: closure.
If you’ve been separated from loved ones outside the U.S. due to conflict, disaster or migration, the Red Cross may be able to help.

We're grateful for local volunteers Melanie, Larry and Fred who traveled to western Washington to help those impacted by historic flooding. They're among the 260 Red Crossers working around the clock with our partners to provide safe shelter, food, emergency relief supplies and more to those in need.
A chain of atmospheric rivers is headed to the West Coast over the next few weeks, increasing the flooding threat for millions of people through the upcoming holidays. Red Cross disaster volunteers are helping now and will continue to support people impacted by this devastating flooding in the days and weeks to come.
While many celebrate the holidays, thousands of families are facing disasters. The American Red Cross typically responds to more than 11,000 emergencies in November and December alone, from home fires to natural disasters. Your support ensures families have shelter, meals and hope during the toughest times, especially when they should be home with loved ones, not recovering from disaster.
This holiday season, make the Red Cross your charity of choice and donate to disaster relief. A gift of any size makes a significant difference for families in need. Give today: https://rdcrss.org/3tHXL8H
