This is something I gently encourage whenever it’s possible.
Animals don’t understand “gone forever” the way humans do—but they do understand death.
Allowing them to see, to smell, to say goodbye can prevent confusion, searching, and the heartbreak of feeling abandoned.
It’s one last act of love—for them, too. 🤍
