Rotation Recap 💚👩‍🏫

Dietetic intern, Breanna Ho, challenged herself during her Community Outreach Experience by leading a community event for last month's National Nutrition Month at a local children’s hospital. 🏥🧒

With the Power of Nutrition, Breanna created Hero’s Mart: a farmer’s market experience with super-hero themes to engage the children at the hospital. 😋🧑‍🌾🥝

Demonstrating her ability to interpret evidence-based research into accessible nutrition education for children, Breanna created a fun, interactive experience for her community. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦😄💯

What It Really Looks Like to Be a Dietetic Intern 👨‍⚕️✨

During Clinical I, Sebastian May is gearing up for patient rounds by digging into the electronic medical record to screen patients and prioritize nutrition risk. 🏥

He’s reviewing the essentials—diagnoses, labs, diet orders, weight trends, and notes from the interdisciplinary team—to spot patients who may need timely nutrition interventions.

This thorough approach helps him stay organized, streamline his workflow, and determine which patients need immediate assessments or follow-up visits.

Intern Spotlight 💡

My name is Jolie Fiske, and I am excited to be a Dietetic Intern with the Aramark Dietetic Internship Program! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition through the Didactic Program in Dietetics at the University of Texas at Austin in December 2024, and completed my Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences, in December 2025. 🎓

My nutrition-related experience spans community, food service, research, and education settings. I have volunteered with Susie’s Kitchen, where I helped educate children and adolescents on nutrition while supporting food preparation and safety. I have also worked in recipe development, nutrition-focused research, and high-volume food service roles, all of which strengthened my communication skills, teamwork, and passion for evidence-based nutrition. 🫂🔬📚

Outside of nutrition, I enjoy yoga, meditation, cooking and baking, skincare, and reading. I love exploring how food supports both physical and mental well-being, and I am looking forward to gaining hands-on clinical experience and growing as a future registered dietitian throughout this internship. 🧑‍🍳📖🙅

Intern Spotlight💡

My name is Ambar Lopez Then. I completed my DPD program at Lehman H College and earned my MBA in Health Administration at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. 🎓

My training focuses on applying evidence-based nutrition care to help improve patient health outcomes. ✅

My experience includes work as a nutrition assistant at CAMBA, assisting with patient charting and providing nutrition education/counseling for individuals with diabetes. It also includes work as a diet technician for Northwell, assisting in screening hospitalized patients for nutritional risk and ensuring meals are appropriate for the patient’s prescribed diet. 👩‍⚕️🏥

Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy karaoke, reading, dancing, and spending meaningful time with my family. 📚🚣‍♂️💃

First Day of Clinical!

Cornelius Henderson attended mandatory Epic training to gain a good understanding of how to use the system. This is important for patient care and documentation. 🖥️🏛️

It was a lot of information to learn, but it was much needed to be successful during the clinical rotation at his assigned hospital! 🏥💯

Jolie Fiske assisted the dietitians at her facility in Florida by kicking off the celebration with highlighting the power of nutrition with healthy snacks in the cafeteria. 🥜
