Penn CFAR The Penn CFAR promotes, facilitates & coordinates AIDS-related research at the Univ of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia & Wistar Institute

The University of Pennsylvania Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) was established in 1999 to promote, facilitate, and coordinate AIDS-related research at the University of Pennsylvania, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Wistar Institute. The primary mission of this NIH-funded Center is to create an interdisciplinary environment that encourages collaborative efforts among research investigators in basic, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences pertaining to AIDS and HIV infection. The Center draws on faculty from ten Schools within the University of Pennsylvania, and is charged with developing multidisciplinary research programs and promoting innovative approaches for the prevention and treatment of HIV infection.
