Youngster wincing and unable to move their arm after a game of “swing me, Daddy!”? They may have a partially dislocated elbow, a common childhood injury known as nursemaid’s elbow.

It’s nothing serious, but it definitely needs treatment from a healthcare professional, ideally an orthopedic specialist. Walk in today, and let’s gently move that little elbow back to where it belongs—so your child can get back to playing pain-free.

🌴Pink eye doesn’t take a summer vacation—but you can keep it from ruining yours by:

🧼 Washing your hands often.
🙅‍♀️ Avoiding touching your eyes, especially with dirty hands.
🧽 Keeping shared surfaces squeaky clean.

Pink eye is usually mild; it resolves on its own after a week or two. However, don’t brush it off if you notice:

👁️ Eye pain
💡 Sensitivity to light (especially if it’s intense)
🌫️ Blurry vision
💧 Thick discharge
🌶️ Deep redness in the whites of your eyes

If those symptoms show up, check in with us here at Patient Care Now Urgent Care. Walk in anytime during our office hours.

Blister raining on your summer parade? Resist the urge to grab a pin and go full DIY on it. Popping it can do more harm than good—it can slow healing or cause an infection.

Instead, let it heal on its own. It should go away in a week or two. If it bursts, let it drain naturally, smooth down the flap of skin, and apply either an antibiotic ointment or petroleum jelly to the area. Cover it with a non-stick sterile dressing.

Stop by if you notice signs of infection, such as pus, increasing pain, warmth, and redness.

The warm-weather escapades are waving!🌳🌞 But guess who loves to join in the fun? TICKS. 🕷️

☀️ Summer’s back, and so are cannonballs, pool days, and sunshine galore!

But with all that splish-splashing, swimmer’s ear can sneak in and spoil your child’s fun.
Here are a few tips to help your child avoid swimmer’s ear, so they can enjoy summer to the fullest:👂💦

🌊 Pop in some earplugs before your child hits the water.
🌊 After swimming, dry their ears thoroughly with a towel.
🌊 Have them tilt their head and softly tug their earlobe to take the water out.
🌊 Use a hair dryer on the lowest setting, held a few inches away, to dry out the ear canals.
🌊 Leave the earwax—it’s the body’s way of protecting the ears from germs.

If your child has ear pain when you touch or wiggle their earlobe, drainage, itching, or muffled hearing, and your primary care provider or ENT specialist is not available, check in with us here at Patient Care Now Urgent Care. Treatment for swimmer’s ear typically includes gently cleaning and draining the ear canal and using prescription eardrops to clear up the infection.
