In a chaotic world, let’s invest in building vibrant local communities.

Here are some of the community-building projects incubating at SoHA: Sanctuary of Healing Arts:

Artist in Residence Program
The SoHA Artist in Residence program has been thriving! In 2025, SoHA supported over 40 world-class artists with room and board, art supplies, a recording studio, a professional theater, event production support, and travel stipends.

These incredible musical and visual artists and educators created extraordinary art while providing a multicultural backdrop for community learning and growth. Highlights included the formation of the 15 member SoHA Rd. Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble, a massive dragon mural created by 10 artists-in-residence from Bhutan, and dozens of concerts and recording sessions featuring artists from Asia, Latin America, Australia, Europe, New York City, San Francisco, and the PNW—including Grammy and Emmy-award-winning musical artists.

Priestess College
After 15 years in Ashland, Oregon, and 9 years in Mt. Shasta, California, Priestess College is making its new home at SoHA. With a newly expanded emphasis on homesteading arts, Priestess College offers a hands-on, live, in-person experience designed to expand awareness and invoke deep magick into daily life.
This enriching school walks the Path of Sacred Living through the Nine Veils of Women—a true, hands-on-the-earth, chop-wood-and-carry-water Priestess training. Priestess College is led by Graellyn Kolebrii, a devotional Priestess of the Goddess, global temple consultant, author, retreat facilitator, Veils Midwife, and ceremonial dancer.

SoHA Market (aka “Shamarket”)
SoHA is creating a large farm-stand marketplace and roadside farm-to-table food-truck picnic area in collaboration with an existing hub of local organic farmers. This brick-and-mortar neighborhood market will close accessibility gaps in our local food desert. The communities of Philomath, Pioneer Village, and Alsea currently do not have access to a local grocery store, requiring residents to travel 20–60 minutes each way for fresh food. SoHA Market will cut that travel time in half while increasing access to locally grown produce, eggs, and handmade local crafts - a win for residents and local farmers.

Local Barter Club & Currency
In 2026, SoHA will sponsor a local barter club and barter currency to promote buying local, supporting small businesses, and strengthening local interdependence. A barter currency redeemable for housing or groceries at a brick-and-mortar location could become a powerful tool for community resilience.

The SoHA Experience (Airbnb Launch)
In 2026, SoHA will launch the SoHA Experience. Imagine if Breitenbush, Oregon Country Fair, and a Zen monastery had a baby—that’s the vibe.

The SoHA Experience will offer personal retreats in nature supported by healthy meals, cozy dorms and glamping-style housing, art therapy, gentle live music, sound baths, retreat facilitators, community campfire singing, extended quiet hours, meditation, sacred moments in community, and spa-like experiences.

Work-Trade & Woofing Opportunities
SoHA currently has a limited number of team spaces for woofers and work-trade volunteers seeking a farm-stay experience and a philanthropic desire to support others in their healing journey. Message David Campbell if you’re interested in a 1–12 month live-in philanthropic work-trade experience at SoHA.

The SoHA Temple
The SoHA Temple is now open as a regional destination for healing retreats, kirtan gatherings, sound baths, and spiritual ceremonies representing a wide range of traditions. We hope you’ll come experience the vibe that has been 11 years in the making.

Singing Alive Festival
Singing Alive Festival will be happening at SoHA in August 2026. This heart-centered group singing festival will celebrate its 17th year in the Pacific Northwest and its first year at SoHA. Join 200–400 people for camping, shared meals, and songs of love and peace.

Natural Burial Sanctuary (Planning Ahead)
SoHA is in the planning stages of offering natural (composting) burial in our forest and meadow, with hopes to begin as early as Spring 2027.

Join Us
We are seeking more helping hands to grow these seeds into a resilient, thriving community. SoHA is more than a local community center—we are creating an open-source blueprint for what’s possible in a more heart-centered world.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

SoHA has been quiet with our marketing—but that’s about to change. The world needs healing centers now more than ever.

Madhurai Sumhara is a kirtan musician based in Mount Shasta, CA.
Kirtan is an ancient, participatory form of devotional chanting and call-and-response singing, rooted in the Indian yoga tradition, that uses music, mantras, and shared voices to foster community, connect with the divine, and induce states of joy, peace, and spiritual elevation. Participants, regardless of musical or spiritual background, sing together, creating a collective energy and a profound, healing, and transformative experience.
Madhurai understands that the frequency of joy is medicine for this world, and thus she brings kirtan in a way that is both deeply sincere, as well as very lively and fun to dance to. Believing deeply in the power of these mantras to radically heal and transform people, Madhurai is enthusiastic to help these mantras spread to those who will benefit from hearing and chanting them.
With her partner William Morgan playing drums, as well special guest artist David Campbell on trumpet, Madhurai and her band are able to bring a bright and inspiring energy to the kirtan. Their intention in sharing kirtan is to bring a taste of that bhav (divine mood) and shakti (creative power) as people sing and dance themselves into bliss!
