While listening to sacred drums, the client sitting relaxed across from Perkins, she will enter the Other World to retrieve helpful symbols and information to gain clarity and perspective on the situation at hand. 2 people minimum, maximum 9. I became a Sacred Pipe Carrier in 2007 and since then, The Pipe has been one of my greatest teachers. It is about Connection on a spirit level, with ourselves, with others in the group, with All Life. There is no funny business in the Pipe; not even true tobacco, just a blend of harmless but Powerful herbs. We gather in a circle with the Pipe assembled on an altar of All Life. When we smoke in this sacred way, we puff the smoke into our mouths. From there it mingles with our breath, and then we exhale a manifestation of our Spirit, as an offering of ourselves. That manifestation mingles with those of everyone in the group, as it rises, expands and dissipates, becoming one with the Smoke from all ceremonies that have been, are occurring, and will occur in the future. We are connected with Ancestors, with intention to heal ourselves, our loved ones, our blessed Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants, big and small. Traditionally, a talking stick or eagle feather is passed following the smoke (we use shed turkey feathers). It’s a time for each person to be heard; they may share prayers or thoughts on learning or gratitude at this time.
