My personal boycott list keeps growing longer and longer, anyone else in the same boat? I’ve gone well over a year without supporting Starbucks and am coming up on 10 months without shopping at Target! Maybe a decade without McDonald’s and the only thing I’ve bought at Walmart in that timeframe is a seed starting kit back in the early days of the pandemic. I left Spotify when Neil Young did and I finally got rid of Amazon Prime when my annual subscription ended earlier this summer (but cut WAY back making purchases long before that). I have a handful or two of small businesses that I support consistently, along with several nonprofits and local political candidates that get a monthly donation from me, too. Every little bit adds up! 🕊️🕯️🧿
Want to support my small business on a budget? Would you consider subscribing to my Substack for $8/month? Every subscription makes a difference to me and I have a ton of posts you’ll unlock access to, once you do! 🔗: 💞💞💞

Sometimes there actually is ethical consumption under capitalism. When we opt into spending whatever money we have to spend on things we care about, we genuinely help build the post-capitalist world we want to see. (Well, maybe not *exactly* that world, considering that the ideal one would also be post-scarcity 🖖🏾). Prioritizing more-ethical spending might not topple the empire, but it still matters.
Wondering where Google and their ilk are? See our previous post “anticapitalist guide to the internet”
This is not meant to be comprehensive! The evil entities listed are not ALL of the evil entities! The replacements provided are not the only options, just the easiest ones (probably!)
