Since starting my LLC in 2017 you have seen Getaway Wellness transform through many phases.
Although many challenges have come to pass, constant undercurrents like mutual respect, integrity, compassion, and a holistic approach to healing have kept OUR practice strong.
I used to believe that it was 'my private practice'... but as it turns out this is really your practice just as much.

Happy Thanksgiving! If you've been following along, completing my "fall in love with self-care" ... then the only thing to be salty about is having to wait all day until you can take another amazing salt soak! Arnica Muscle & Joint Soak is what I'm using... check out my previous posts if you're catching up here!
I'm especially grateful for the opportunity to share my professional recommendations with the world... and for puppies... always puppies 🐶. I hope that everyone feels rejuvenated going into the day, and enjoys these precious family memories with presence, and care.

Massage therapy is a practice close to my heart... such a humble act of nourishment, such a simple yet profound service. As a professional licensed massage therapist, I grow to respect the modality more and more every day. Massage is most effective when done daily... thought to ward off the aging process... there are many additional benefits to making this ritual part of your everyday routine.

💛 In Ayurveda, this self-massage ritual (called Abhyanga) nourishes tissues, supports joints, and soothes the nervous system. Dry Brushing 101:
-Best done with dry- product free skin...
-Stand in the tub or shower to avoid getting your dead skin cells everywhere 🤢
-Using the brush, start at your toes... glide the brush upward, towards your heart
-These strokes should be long and light... alternate the brush strokes with your opposite hand
-Repeat on the rest of your body- always sweeping towards your heart
-Except for your belly... brush in circular clockwise strokes
-Follow up with a nourishing massage oil... (more about that next!)

Our Story

The Getaway is a Boutique Wellness Clinic. In August 2017, Katie Moran opened up her private practice. Katie is an experienced Licensed Massage Therapist, Usui Reiki Master, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, Life Coach, and Artist.

She integrates several modalities of healing arts to provide each client with a unique, safe, and transformative experience.

Most of Katie’s favorite techniques stem from ancient medical practices, and have stood the test of time by the measurement of human experience. Some such modalities include ayurveda, reflexology, acupressure, cranio-sacral, myofascial release, yoga, reiki, and Integrative Manual Therapy.

Katie believes that each person whom leaves her care in less pain, may be more kind in daily life... thus creating a happier world for all.
