time is precious 🫶🏽. You know, if my momma didn’t perm my hair when I was 8, I would have placed higher on my 10k race. I’m kidding 👀🫠 but let’s get into the details and tips I have for running this thing!
1. My time was 1 hour and 16 minutes. I set a goal for it to be a solid hour so I came close. My didn’t reflect this, but my pace went down to 12” so I’m super proud of that! considering I ran a 14” at my 5k race last month. Improving in the baby steps.🤏🏽
2. I messed up and didn’t eat anything before the race. I’m positive that my experience would have been better had I put something on my stomach outside of water 😲
3. I personally don’t think I will be doing a 10k for the Q2 because this was a lot harder than it looked. While 5k is more comfortable for me, I think it’s necessary to keep training for the 5k and build momentum.
4. I understand why the girlies don’t wear a water pack while running. This thing slows you down! Just drink at the water stations and make up for the time in my opinion 🤷🏽♀️
5. Please get sleep prior to your race. I got 7 hours and felt rested and still started to see stars as I finished up.
