Can you please help?
How is it possible that someone who is dying of cancer is told they must wait three-six months to process an application through AHCCESS to begin chemo? I am stunned at the heartlessness of the Arizona bureaucracy.
There are holy moments in life when you can act to literally save someone’s life. Today is one of those days. My granddaughter has two incredibly sweet, young friends, a couple, who have both unfortunately lost their jobs due to layoffs and no longer have insurance and they have two kids and Recently, Lupe discovered that she has stage four ovarian cancer. She has had the surgery but they do not have the money or insurance to do the follow-up chemotherapy at $470.00 a session every two weeks, and medication and Dr's bills. AHCCESS is telling them they will have to wait up to 3-6 months to get her covered. I don’t have to tell you what that might mean for her especially since her lesions are growing faster than they can keep up with.
We can contribute to get the chemo process started now. The kid's friends are doing car washes and other fund-raisers as well. Please send help, small or large, every dollar matters. We have opened an account for her below:
Maravilla/DelaRosa
Arizona Federal Credit Union
Special Savings Account # 83803
To find an Arizona Federal Credit Union or affiliate in your area, go to:
www.CuServiceCenter.com
In addition, make sure to include (1) Account Name: Maravilla/DelaRosa (2) Arizona Federal Credit Union’s Name and (3) the account number and that branch or an affiliated branch will deposit your contribution for Lupe.
You may also send your contribution made out to Guadalupe Maravilla to 1033 East Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85014 and I will get it into her account. Please pass this along to your own friends list. If my heart is breaking for them, I can't even imagine what they must be feeling.
With love and appreciation from this precious couple and from me,
Dina
