You might call it cheating… I call it tension.
And tension builds muscle — not internet opinions.

You’re stressing about ā€œfull repsā€ like there’s a judge with a clipboard in the gym.
There isn’t.

It’s just you, the load, and whether that muscle is actually doing the damn work.

I lock into the groove where the target muscle doesn’t get a single second of rest until the set is DONE.
That’s why my physique looks the way it does — at 67.

There’s no sacred rulebook for shaping a muscle.
There’s progressive overload, intent, and understanding exactly where your body grows best.

Frame it however you want.
Results don’t lie.
Reps don’t matter if the muscle isn’t under tension.

Step 1 is your meal plan — you MUST be LEAN enough for your abs to show.

Most of you train abs…
But you never actually contract them.
That’s why the lines don’t pop — your arms and hips are doing all the work.

Movement comes from your spine — not your arms.

Most people slow down with age… I went the other way.

You don’t need more time, a better start, or permission.
You need momentum — and most people never build it because they stop every time life gets uncomfortable.
Holidays. Stress. Work. Excuses.
That’s how entire years get wasted.

Here’s how I’ve stayed locked in for decades:

šŸ HAPPY THANKSGIVING šŸ

From my kitchen to yours… read this with intention.

Today isn’t about food.
It’s about perspective.
It’s about family, gratitude, and remembering how blessed we are to wake up, move our bodies, and pour into the people we love.

I’m standing here cooking like I do every year — not because it’s ā€œtradition,ā€ but because it reminds me of how far I’ve come.
Where I started… what I’ve survived… the people God’s placed in my life… and the purpose I get to live out every single day.

I’m grateful for Heather.
I’m grateful for my family.
I’m grateful for the people who ride with me, support Beyond Bodyz, and trust me with their health and their goals.
And I’m grateful that I GET to do the work — in and out of the gym.

So eat, laugh, be present.
Enjoy the people around you.
And tomorrow…
we get right back to the grind.
Because gratitude without action is just noise.

You’re not doing your curls efficiently — and you don’t even know it.

You keep snapping your elbows straight at the bottom like you’re trying to escape the rep.
And every time you do, you dump ALL the tension off the bicep.
That’s why your arms look the same month after month.

Fix it:

āœ… Keep the elbows soft at the bottom — locking out is for triceps
āœ… Squeeze HARD at the peak — max tension is where growth actually happens
āœ… Control every inch — up AND down, no bouncing, no ego tempo

Make these adjustments and your curls finally switch from ā€œmoving weightā€ to building arms.

You say you train arms…
But arms don’t grow from movement — they grow from tension.

Sixteen weeks in my camp and Karen delivered:

šŸ„‰ 3rd Place – Open Class
šŸ„‰ 3rd Place – NPC Nationals

I’m always honored when an athlete puts their trust — and their body — in my hands. Karen brought a whole team to the table, and I’m grateful for every person who supported this journey…

…but at the end of the day, the final package falls under my watch as her coach.
And I’m incredibly proud of what we brought to the stage.

Karen has the heart of a real champion.
No excuses. No ego. No quitting.

She is on a mission and was back in the gym this morning and already locked in on her reverse out, 100% compliant — because a champion’s mindset doesn’t wait for motivation. It executes.

And trust me…
the future is very bright for this one.
