Meet Julie Smith ⚡ Social Worker & Autism Specialist
🌸 What does Julie love helping people with?
Julie loves supporting teens and adults navigating ADHD, AuDHD, autism, executive functioning challenges, burnout, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping clients better understand how their brains work so they can build self-compassion, confidence, and sustainable ways of functioning. Julie also creates an affirming space for individuals exploring identity, sexuality, and gender.
🌸 What makes her therapy style unique?
Julie brings a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach grounded in her social work background and autism specialization. She blends compassionate support with practical, real-life strategies that help clients reduce overwhelm, strengthen boundaries, and improve executive functioning in everyday life. Her work is collaborative and tailored to each client’s needs, and she incorporates approaches like ERP and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) when helpful, especially when anxiety or OCD-related patterns overlap with neurodivergent experiences.
🌸 Who might feel especially at home working with Julie?
Teens and adults who identify as neurodivergent, are navigating burnout or life transitions, or want support understanding themselves more deeply may feel especially at home with Julie. She also warmly supports members of the q***r community exploring identity and relationships, and enjoys working with younger children and families when clinically appropriate.
