Making the move from the UK to Phoenix, AZ has already been a positive journey and I’m only a month in! As a sports therapist, life coach, and menopausal coach, I know the importance of self-care. Let’s be real, I’m also a 65 year-old woman navigating the ups and downs of menopause, just like so many others. My journey so far:
1. Mental & Physical Health: I already feel healthier and more motivated. The sunshine here is a huge game changer for my mindset! It’s like a daily boost of energy.
2. Fitness Goals: I’m back in the gym, but not just for the physical appearance. This time, it’s all about building strength, balance, and mobility. Menopause can challenge these areas, so I make them priority every day.
3. Skincare: In the dry Arizona heat, skincare is crucial. Sunscreen is high on the list. While I don’t splurge on expensive creams, I’ve developed a simple but effective routine that keeps my skin fresh, nourished and hydrated.
4. Nutrition: Navigating US food options is definitely an adventure, but I’m slowly getting there. Ensuring I get the right nutrients is key.
5. Vitamins & Supplements: I’ve always been conscious of my supplement intake, especially during my years of being in the fitness industry, but now it’s important to adapt my regimen to better support my current needs and new environment.
6. Hydration: Moving to Phoenix taught me a hard lesson very quickly, hydration is EVERYTHING. It’s important to stay on top of my water intake and replenish electrolytes, especially living in the desert heat.
