And when you hear Akayda’s story, you understand why.

Born at just 29 weeks, Akayda spent nearly two years in the PICU. During that time, something incredible happened: Bridgette chose to adopt her, welcoming a medically fragile child into her family with open arms and an even bigger heart.

Because bringing Akayda home wouldn’t be simple. Her care includes trachs, ventilators, and feeding tubes, things that require constant attention, expertise, and unwavering love.

Before she ever left the hospital, Team Select was there, working alongside Bridgette to coordinate resources, build a care team, and ensure everything was ready for a safe transition home.

And today, Akayda is exactly where she belongs, surrounded by a family whose love truly knows no limits.

Our CEO walked into his office this morning and found it completely taken over by stuffed animals. Desk, chair, floor… everywhere!

Honestly, it felt very fitting. If you’ve ever met him, you know how much he loves his dogs (and how often we get surprise office visits 🐾), so the team ran with it.

Just one of those moments that makes you pause and appreciate the people you get to work with. We show up, we have fun, and somehow we always find a way to make it mean something.

The best part? These toys are being donated for a good cause to a local non-profit!
