Today is the Great American Smokeout. 🚭 It is a nationwide movement that inspires people to take the first step toward quitting smoking and improving their health.

Even small steps make a difference. ⏲️ Within 20 minutes of quitting, heart rate and blood pressure begin to drop. πŸ“… Within one year, the risk of heart disease decreases by half.

If you are thinking about quitting, take it one step at a time. Try setting small goals like going without to***co for the morning, taking a walk when cravings hit, or reaching out to a friend for support. Celebrate progress each day and remember that slips do not erase your effort. πŸ’ͺ

Michelle Evans leads to***co cessation efforts at Phoenixville and Pottstown Hospitals. She is here to support anyone who is ready to quit or even just thinking about it.

Contact Michelle at 610-983-1021 or MichelleP.Evans@towerhealth.org to request a small quit kit or to access helpful resources, classes, and personalized guidance.

Each November we recognize National Native American Heritage Month to honor the histories and rich traditions of our country’s indigenous populations.

Learn more about the origins of National Native American Heritage Month at: https://www.bia.gov/NNAHM. You can also explore the histories and cultures of the Lenape, the first people to live in what is now Eastern Pennsylvania. Take some time this month to learn and celebrate the communities whose stories shape our nation. πŸ“šπŸŒ

πŸ’™ Happy National Radiologic Technology Week! πŸ’™

Each November, radiology departments across the country celebrate Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s incredible discovery of the X-ray on November 8, 1895 β€” a breakthrough that changed medicine forever.

Through November 8, we honor our amazing medical imaging professionals who use advanced technology to help diagnose, treat, and care for our patients every single day.

X-ray imaging transformed how healthcare teams see and understand the human body β€” and our skilled imaging experts continue to make that impact possible.

πŸ‘ Thank you to all our imaging professionals for your hard work, dedication, and compassion! πŸ‘

πŸ’– Spinning for a Cause! πŸ’–

Last week, CYCLEBAR members came together to honor breast cancer survivors and raise awareness for breast cancer research and support. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who rode, donated, and shared their stories. πŸ’ͺπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ Your energy and compassion truly make a difference.

Let’s keep the momentum going β€” awareness, early detection, and community support save lives. πŸ’—

Congratulations to Phoenixville Hospital's June 2025 DAISY Award Winner: Stacey Fetters - 2 South. πŸ‘

Here is her nomination:
Stacey was nominated by a colleague for her genuinely caring and empathetic approach towards patients and staff members alike. The colleague said that, β€œI am often on the giving and receiving end of shift report with Stacey. She exudes caring and empathy for her patients in every breath! There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her patients”. The colleague also brought up a time when a fellow nurse fell ill at work. β€œStacey stopped what she was doing and tended to this colleague until the nurse felt better and was good enough to leave under her own power.”
