In February, members of the Tower Health Research Team at Reading and Phoenixville Hospitals came together to pack 169 brand new backpacks filled with school supplies for children in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa. Working side by side in assembly line style, they turned donated and purchased supplies into what they lovingly called “Blessings of Love.” 💙

In August, Lisa Gooch, DrPH, MSN-NLA, RN, CCRC, Tower Health system director of research, will travel to Mandeville, Jamaica, for a mission trip, where she will help distribute the backpacks across multiple parishes.

“It is truly a blessing and honor to be able to use one’s gifts, talents, time, and resources to be a blessing to others in need,” Lisa shared. “It’s what we are called to do.”

We’re grateful to our team for putting their time and care into supporting children and families in need. 🌎🎒

Dr. Dalkeith Facey recently completed his 1,000th robotic surgery, and it’s a milestone he values most because of what it means for his patients. 💙🙌

Since joining Tower Health in 2022, Dr. Facey has been performing a wide range of robotic procedures, from hernia repairs and gallbladder surgeries to complex colon resections for conditions such as cancer and diverticulitis.

⚙️ Using robotic technology, he can operate through tiny incisions, which means smaller scars, less pain, and faster recovery. The most rewarding part for him is seeing patients a couple of weeks later smiling and feeling better.

Some procedures that used to take an hour can now be completed in 20 minutes or less, and in certain cases, patients are able to go home the same day. Even emergency surgeries that once required a week in the hospital can now be done through just a few small incisions, thanks to his expertise and Tower Health’s 24/7 robotic surgery team. 🏥
