We've updated our mask mandate! Per CDC and Governer Dewine, if you are fully vaccinated you are no longer required to wear a mask within our building. Staff will continue to wear a mask during sessions, and we strongly encourage anyone to continue wearing a mask if they so choose!

We had another graduate of Performance Vision Academy today! 🥳 Gracie has worked so hard these past few months, and we are so proud of her! 💜

Gracie’s mom said that before therapy, Gracie suffered headaches weekly. Now, after finishing VT, she hasn’t had a headache in months!

We asked Gracie if she had any advice for someone beginning vision therapy, and she had this to say - “ It seems like a lot to do at first, but in the end it’s all worth it.”

Meet the Accommodative Flippers

We use these A LOT in vision therapy. These guys can train your eyes to adjust from near to far, helping to keep a target in focus wherever it is!

Oftentimes, people with accommodative issues suffer from headaches, eye strain and fatigue, blurry vision, double vision, and even the inability to stay focused on work.

Training your accommodative system to work better can improve every day activities like reading, note taking from a board or screen, driving and more!

In the office, we use flippers MONOCULARLY (or with one eye at a time) to begin, working each eye individually to strengthen them. We start with lower power lenses, and work our way up until each eye can easily clear the lens. Once we have worked each eye individually, we begin working BINOCULARLY (or with both eyes) to strengthen both eyes together.

Have you ever wondered why your child is doing a specific activity during vision therapy? 🤨

Parents and patients often ask us, “hey why are we doing this?” Or “How is this helping my vision?” 🧐

Vision isn’t always something that you can SEE. You might not realize it, but things you’re doing everyday are directly affecting your vision! Something as simple as reading a book, or solving a word search 🔍 can be helpful in maintaining a healthy visual system.

Here is a basic explanation of some of the things we focus on in vision therapy and common activities you may see us doing!

We are so excited to be back in the office! If we haven’t already reached out to you, be sure to give us a call to get back on our schedule. 🤓

Here’s how we are dealing with safety in the office during the COVID-19 pandemic.

👁 We will be scheduling appointments further apart to allow time to sanitize our work areas and equipment between sessions.
👁 All staff and patients are required to wear a face mask at all times, as well as any parent or guardian accompanying the patient.
👁 Only one parent/guardian allowed to accompany the patient during the therapy session.
👁 Equipment sharing will be limited, and anything we cannot send home with the patient will sanitized between sessions to ensure safety.
