📱 “Posture Impacts More Than You Think”
Hours spent hunched over phones and laptops are changing the shape and function of the modern spine.
⠀
🔬 Research shows that every inch your head moves forward adds roughly 10 pounds of extra load on your neck and upper back (Hansraj, 2014).
⠀
And it’s not just about neck pain — posture directly affects how you breathe and how your nervous system functions.
⠀
A study published in Cephalalgia found that people with chronic neck pain experienced respiratory dysfunction and reduced breathing efficiency due to altered cervical posture (Kapreli E, Vourazanis E, Billis E. 2009; 29: 701–710).
⠀
Over time, this forward-head posture can lead to:
• Chronic muscle tension & headaches
• Decreased lung capacity
• Nerve interference
• Fatigue and poor concentration
⠀
💡 Your posture is a reflection of your spine — and your spine protects the system that runs your body.
⠀
Take care of it daily: move often, stretch, strengthen your back extensors, and stay aware of your alignment.
