At Americare, Wellness isn’t just a program – it’s a way of life. Through Flourish Wellness, we create opportunities for residents to live with vitality, meaning, and personal fulfillment at every age and ability level.
Dimension of Wellness: Physical Wellness
Activity: Health Forum 🥗📝
Story: Jonathan, one of our Medication Technicians, led a Health Forum as part of our Hometown Hospitality program. He and his family presented a history of health and wellness followed by a Q&A where residents were able to ask their own questions they had about their health journeys. They were very excited to learn about opportunities where they can take control of their health through simple, everyday, practices. Since then, our residents have been supporting and challenging each other to make choices that support their health and are finding new ways to approach their wellness everyday.

Happy New Year! We are looking forward to a fun-filled 2026. We have so many wonderful volunteers and we are so thankful for their continued dedication to serving our residents. We are also celebrating several National Days this month including National Rubber Duck Day, National Pie Day, and National Big Wig Day. Checking in with Clark’s Mountain

Hey guys! I’m sure a lot of you already know me but for those that don’t, my name is Tasha Hamilton, and I have worked at Clarks Mountain Nursing Center for almost 14 years now. I started out in 2012 working as a nursing assistant and shortly after that, I got my certification as a CNA. About a year and a half later, I added CMT to my title and then in 2016, I graduated nursing school as an LPN. I am currently in school now and working towards my Associate Degree in Nursing to become an RN; I will hopefully complete that in August of next year! Since becoming a nurse, I have held a few different titles here at Clarks Mountain. I was a charge nurse on night shift for a while and then I was the Staff Development nurse for about two years. I have recently accepted a new position as the MDS coordinator, and I am so thankful for this opportunity to further my nursing education and grow in my career. As the MDS coordinator, it is my job to perform quarterly assessments on each of our residents to monitor their physical, mental, and functional needs. I work with the residents and their families to help develop their care plans based on their individual needs. I really enjoy spending time with our resident’s one-on-one and learning about their life and this position gives me the opportunity to do just that. I am excited for this new role and so blessed to be part of the CMNC team!

Santa stopped by with presents for all of our wonderful residents while we enjoyed some beautiful music, Christmas snacks, and great company! Thank you to the Piedmont Community Choir, Santa & Mrs. Claus, and all of our wonderful families that stopped by to celebrate 💚❤️

Merry Christmas!
We have had so much fun this month getting to celebrate our wonderful, hard working, staff as we honor them for all of the wonderful things they do throughout the year. Thank you for showing up every day to serve our residents and their families and working to ensure they are happy and well cared for. Thank you to everyone who came to our December staff meeting and potluck as well as our annual after hours Christmas Party at Tequilas, it is so much fun getting to celebrate with you!
