Another wonderful perspective on the misconception of "Deep Tissue Massage" from a therapist I've loved and respected for YEARS. Deep Tissue is not "Digging In", it is effectively massaging through the layers with slow, increasing pressure that continuously respects the body's limits until the body feels safe enough to release these layers to allow you to access deeper layers. That is Deep Tissue. If a therapist is claiming they are "breaking down" your knots, please find a more reputable Massage Therapist. Knots/adhesions/trigger points are not broken down, they "release" only when they sense the muscles contributing to sensation of tightness/pain have been stretched and softened enough to ease their pull on the muscles that are "knotted". Knots/adhesions are extra tissue created as a defense mechanism because the muscle feels over-extended so it thinks it needs more tissue to create "slack". Effective massage is finding the source muscle(s) of the over-extension and opening/softening it to take down muscle's defense, not digging into lumps of muscle tissue.

As promised, here are my May Availabilities! We have just *3 APPOINTMENTS* this upcoming month left, with April being fully booked still. If you are interested in one of these slots, please call (256)371-9628 if you are a new client, as we do require a debit/credit card to reserve all sessions. Returning clients with an established client profile/card on file have the option to text the business line for their appointment request. Whether you are calling or texting, please leave your name, number, the appointment day and time you are interested in, and I will reach out to you upon my soonest availability during business hours if I am initially unavailable at the time of your call/text. Winter has been left behind, and Spring has graced us with her beautiful presence 🩷💛🩷💛🩷

A Calm Mind Massage is currently booked for the next 6 weeks. During this time, in honor of Spring, I ask that you find your "bloom". Get out into nature, soak in the sun, play in the rain, read a book, get out in the garden, listen to the birds, have a picnic-whatever you think will symbolize the shedding of your dormant winter energy and will have you burst into full bloom!

Lay your phones down and enjoy God's Green Earth and its endless provisions. We have so much to be grateful for, what better way to express our gratitude then to be witness to nature flourishing and allowing ourselves to flourish with it? 🌺
