There are two kinds of changes in your life.
•Planned change and unexpected change.•
~Although change often leads to new perspectives, experiences and knowledge, it doesn't come without discomfort.
That's why it's so important to always stay open to the possibilities and opportunities that may exist as a result of this change.
Yes, unexpected change is often sudden and scary! And there will always be setbacks, problems, and mistakes while making a planned change. But change can be incredibly beneficial and rewarding at the same time.
Change helps us find courage, strength, and resilience. Change gives us the opportunity to re-evaluate our priorities and values. And it can provide the clarity we need to make decisions that help us live in alignment with those values and priorities.
And that leads me to the reason for this post:
I have decided not to renew my lease, set to expire May 1st, at 105 E. Main St., Pierce.
I have spent countless hours trying to make this decision. And as hard as it is, I know it's what's best for my business, my clients, and myself.
At this time, I do not have an alternate location to move to, as lease space in Pierce is a scarce commodity.
•••But I do have faith that this is a pause and not an ending.•••
So, for now, I leave you with this.
*Move forward with purpose. Each and every day.
Care for your body and spirit. Make the changes in your life that lead you to being your most authentic self. You are worth it.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I promise to post updates if and when I have them, too. 🙂

Such a beautiful sentiment. Don’t hold on to regret. Don’t burden yourself with worries of tomorrow. Do your best to be a good person today. Be kind. Be humble. Love your people fiercely. 🩷

Luxury? Try again! A majority of people who are regular massage clients cite their health and wellbeing as the primary reason they invest in massage.
Massage is being seen as an integral part of a personal care routine and less as a luxury. Why do you get massages?

This is great advice!
When we don't move, our body has no way to process the flood of response chemicals that overwhelms us when our anxiety alarms are triggered.
Put on your walking shoes and head outside, toss the ball with your kid, or start a push-up challenge with a friend. Then work on getting into a long-term exercise routine doing something you enjoy.

I think almost every client over the years has asked me that question. The answer is, a lot of things!
I was born in 1983 and raised in Pierce, Nebraska. As a child, I lived with my Dad and siblings in my grandparents home. My grandparents were hard working people. Both were employed at the Pierce Manor and also owned and operated the Plainview Roller Rink for 27 years.
At around 7 or 8 years old, I would get so much joy from rubbing my Grandma’s feet when she came home from work. She would slip off her heels and sink into her recliner while I sat on the floor. Watching her face for cues that I was doing a good job. Feeling satisfied when she would smile and say, “Oh, Mandi! You don’t know how good that feels! Thank you.”.
As a teenager, I was known among friends as the one who gave the good neck and shoulder rubs. It was not unusual for me to spend the length of a movie giving neck rubs to a number of my girl friends. One of them even gave me a couple massage instructional books for Christmas! With their support, and because I needed to find a topic for an English term paper, I started looking into what it took to become a massage therapist.
I received my first massage from Ryan Kelly - Body Kneads of Norfolk, NE. I had never had a professional massage, but part of the requirement of applying to The Omaha School of Massage Therapy was you had to have received a massage and include a copy of your receipt (makes sense that you should have at least had a massage before you learn to give one, right?). In those thirty minutes, I knew that I was making the right choice and was excited to have chosen a career. Not knowing my choice would not only be my career, but my passion.
I graduated from Pierce High School in 2001, moved to Omaha in 2002, and attended The Omaha School of Massage Therapy. I graduated, took the national exam from the NCBTMB, passed, and applied for my Nebraska license. I am proud to have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2003.
After graduating from OSMT, I moved to western Nebraska and practiced part time while working a full time job. A few years later, I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my full time job to practice massage therapy full time. I married my husband, Ryan, in 2011 and had our first child, Jack, in 2012. Ryan was an owner/operator of our own trucking company, and after the birth of our second son, Kal, in 2014 we decided to move back to Pierce. We sold our home and business and made our way east. I was excited to be ‘home’! Since then we have had two more children, our son, Breck, and our daughter, Quinn. I operated out of Hair Magic for two years and enjoyed building my clientele. I have been operating out of Hausmann Physical Therapy-Pierce since May 2018 and love it!
I have spent the last 17 years loving my job and learning how to do it better. I’m proud of the work I do. I hope the impact I have made, and continue to make, in my clients lives and in my community is a positive one. I’m passionate about helping my clients find relief from pain, relief from stress, relief from life’s demands (if only for an hour). I’m passionate about being a small business owner, being a member of the Pierce Chamber of Commerce, and helping people be successful. That is why I “do massage”.
I’m blessed to be raising my family in the community I love. Doing what I love.
