The full moon in February is called the Snow Super Moon โ๏ธ๐ today, 2/12.

Name inspiration: In the northern hemisphere, the heaviest of snows often fall in February (although not in NY this year). Some also refer to it as the hunger moon.
February offers a stunning display of bright planets, with Venus at its peak and Jupiter and Mars dominating the night sky. Hereโs what to watch for:
Mercury - Appears just above the horizon in late February, shining brightly after sunset.
Venus - The brightest planet this month, visible in the west after sunset.
Mars - A glowing amber-orange, high in the east each evening, setting a few hours before sunrise.
Jupiter - A brilliant presence high overhead in the evening.
Saturn - Faint but visible low in the west just after sunset, sinking lower as the month progresses.

Winter Moon
Bright the moon, like a jewel is beaming,
While in the east, oโer a lone landscape,
Over the meadows and over the snow,
Glimmering, shimmering, silvery glow.
โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ
Low in the east when the gloaming is ending,
Slowly this white winter moon is ascending,
Looming so large and appearing so nigh,
Satellite framed by a star spangled sky.
โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ
High in the sky, with soft radiance teeming,
Nigh to the time when men, women are dreaming,
Weird is her splendor on valley and hill,
Cold is her gleam upon river and rill.
โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ
Brightly the moon like a jewel is shining,
White in the west, she is slowly declining;
Beautiful moon! Which beams glorious and grand,
Over the homes of our own native land.
