🚶‍♀️ Happy National Walking Day! 🚶‍♂️
Walking is one of the most powerful ways to care for your health, and it’s something most of us can start today.

Regular walking can:
💔 Lower your risk of heart attack and stroke
😢 Help anxiety and depression
🎗️ Reduce the risk of certain cancers
🩺 Help control blood pressure and blood sugar
🧠 Reduce your risk of dementia

⚠️ Road Closure ⚠️

Dakota Avenue, the road that runs between Mary House and the hospital, will be closed Tuesday, March 31st.

Dakota Avenue adjacent to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital will be closed on Tuesday, March 31, beginning at 7 a.m. to accommodate construction work. The closure will extend from just west of South Washington Avenue to just east of the Plaza 1 parking lot entrance.

No on-street parking will be allowed in the area; cones will be placed this evening prior to restrict parking.

The road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on March 31.

🔬Fasting labs:
💉You shouldn't have anything to eat for 8-12 hours prior to labs.
💉You can drink water during that time.
💉Avoid soda, tea, and even black coffee before fasting labs.

❓Did you know that you don't need to fast for most labs? You only need to fast if instructed to by your doctor's office.
