Nurses Week holds a special place in my heart because nursing has always been more than a profession to me. It is a calling rooted in compassion, service, and caring for others.
Before I ever served in Pierre, I served at the bedside. That experience never left me. It shaped how I listen, how I lead, and how I show up for the people of South Dakota.
To every nurse across our state, thank you. What you do matters more than words can express. You show up during life’s hardest moments, care for people when they need it most, and make our communities stronger every single day.
Happy Nurses Week. South Dakota is better because of our nurses, and Pierre is better when nurses have a voice at the table.
