: In honor of Women's History Month, today we look back on the women who helped America claim victory in World War II. One unexpected effect of the war was the change it made in women's lives. Due to the fact that many men had left their homes to fight as soldiers, there was a decrease in available workers on the home front. That's when more women joined the workforce in previously "male" roles. For example, these women trained to become welders at the Foster Wheeler Corp. plant in Dansville, N.Y., where they produced boilers for U.S. Navy battleships.

What seasonal are YOU most looking forward to as the seasons change?

Me? I’ll be out in nature, communing with the plants, reading, and spending time with my chickens!

Coping skills don’t always have to be just deep breathing and meditation (although those are fantastic).

If you’re having a hard time with coping, stress management, anxiety, etc. it may be time for you to reach out for some help. I’ll gladly walk with you and teach you creative ways to cope 🙂.

Chances & Changes is looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to help staff our domestic violence hotline. This role is remote/virtual, and training is provided.

What you’ll do:
Answer hotline calls and provide supportive, survivor-centered assistance
Help with safety planning, resources, and next-step options
Document calls appropriately and maintain strict confidentiality

What you’ll get:
Comprehensive training + ongoing support
A meaningful way to serve survivors in our community—right from home

Requirements:
Reliable phone/internet access and a private, confidential space
Ability to remain calm, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed
Willingness to complete training and follow agency policies
Background check / onboarding paperwork required
