‘Tis the season to give!

Devin had a very cold morning yesterday with the crew at the Pop-up Food Pantry, but said that he enjoyed every minute helping Tuscola County Senior Connections and the rest of the crew that helped distribute food.

What’s one of your favorite ways of giving back to your community?

Some of our members braved the weather yesterday to help out at a pop-up pantry that we helped sponsor for the Caro community! Thanks to all of the other sponsors and volunteers who helped put this on. A calendar of future pop-up pantries can be found at www.fbem.org.

❄️ WINTER WEATHER SAFETY REMINDER ❄️

When the sidewalks freeze over, even something as simple as grabbing the mail can turn into a slip or a fall. This can be especially tough for older adults or anyone who’s a little unsteady on their feet.

A few small habits can help keep everyone safe:

🧊 Watch for black ice on steps and driveways (it’s sneaky and hard to see)
👟 Wear shoes with good traction and take slow, steady steps.
💡 Turn on outdoor lights to help spot slick areas at dusk or dawn.
🧤 Bundle up with layers, and avoid going outside alone when it’s icy.
🚪 Use handrails whenever possible, and keep walkways salted or sanded.

Medicare can be confusing — but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

As we move through the enrollment season, it’s important to understand the difference between Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, especially in rural areas like ours.

Traditional Medicare often provides broader provider choice, fewer network limits, and more flexibility for home health and hospice services.

If you or a loved one is unsure about coverage or thinking about switching, we’re here to help point you in the right direction.

💙 November is National Diabetes Awareness Month 💙

Did you know that more than 38 million Americans are living with diabetes — and many more don’t even realize they’re at risk? This month is about awareness, prevention, and support — not just for those managing diabetes, but for the families and caregivers walking beside them every day.

Here at Seasons Change Home Health Care & Hospice, we understand that managing chronic illnesses like diabetes can be challenging — from balancing medications and nutrition to navigating fatigue and complications. Our nurses, aides, and social workers see the strength it takes every day, and we’re here to help carry that load with compassion and care.

Small steps make a big difference:

🌟 Employee Spotlight — Celebrating Jennifer Rehmus, PTA! 🌟

At Seasons Change Home Health Care & Hospice, we are incredibly proud of the dedicated and compassionate professionals who care for our patients every day. Today, we are honored to highlight one of our exceptionally hardworking team members — Jennifer Rehmus, PTA 💚

Jennifer recently completed an intensive certification program through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, showcasing her remarkable commitment to clinical excellence and professional growth. She has demonstrated outstanding competency in all aspects of Lymphedema management and gained advanced knowledge in the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system.

Because of her hard work and determination, Jennifer is now certified to provide Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) — allowing her to deliver an even greater level of specialized, exceptional care to our patients. 🌱✨

Please join us in congratulating Jenifer on this amazing achievement! We are so grateful to have her as part of our Seasons Change family — continuing to make a meaningful difference, one patient at a time. 💛
