Care is more than a job. It’s a connection."
In the field of in-home care, we often talk about schedules, medication, and safety. Those things are vital—but they aren't the whole story.
I’ve spent years in the living rooms of seniors and adults with disabilities. I’ve learned that a "care visit" is often about much more than a checklist. It’s about the 20 minutes spent looking at old photo albums. It’s about the way a client’s face lights up when you remember exactly how they take their coffee.
I’m starting a project called The Great Table because I believe these stories of resilience and quiet strength deserve a place to be told.
Whether you are a family member navigating care for a loved one, or a caregiver yourself, please know: what you do matters. The patience you show and the dignity you provide are the "miracles" of everyday life.
To our community: What is one small thing a caregiver or a family member did for you that made a hard day easier? Let’s celebrate the "unseen" heroes today.
