I am very happy to announce that August 3rd I will start an Empowerment Group for High School Girls. I have decided to start this group because many of the teens I'm seeing are struggling with similar issues. The goals for this group are to give teens a place to express their feelings, gain support in a neutral environment and learn to communicate what they want and need in a healthy way. This will be a small telehealth group limited to 6 members. Attendance will be weekly until school starts and then we will reevaluate if it is weekly or biweekly. Each group will be 90 minutes.
The format will include a "getting to know you" activity and then information on a relevant topic such as
Social Anxiety
Managing emotions and responses
Difficulty with Friendships
Academic Pressures
Communication Skills
And of course their "crushes"

Medicaid accepted
OON for all other companies.

Feel free to pass this onto others

Do you know someone in their 20's that is struggling with anxiety or depression?
I currently have 2 openings in my "20 Something's Group." This group provides a very VERY supportive environment for those struggling with anxiety, depression and communication issues. Together the group members explore their thoughts and concerns and receive support, feedback and guidance. Issues discussed include school problems, concerns with family members, uncertainty, relationships, dating, goal setting and career paths.

This group meets weekly and is covered by Medicaid and most insurances.

To choose hope is to step firmly into the howling wind, baring one’s chest to the elements, knowing that, in time, the storm will pass.

As the weather changes, election day gets closer and the number of COVID cases rise, be sure to practice self-care. Turn off the news for a bit and take a walk with a friend or read a book. Right now, there is a lot of negative energy in our country and we need to practice mindfulness.

You got this!

Ask yourself the following questions...
What do you do to relax?
What brings you joy?
Do you make time to do something you enjoy every day?
What are your simple pleasures?

How do you feel about your body? Do you appreciate all that it does for you? Or perhaps your body is a source of shame for you.
Body image issues can be directly associated with shame and trauma. Until your deal with it, you can't live the healthy and happy life that's waiting for you.
I am here to help you manage and understand the impact the trauma has on your life.

Our Story

Are leftover traumas from your past holding you back from living fully? Do you wish you could stop trying to numb out from your negative thoughts, depression, anxiety or addiction? Through therapy, you can learn how to embrace your vulnerabilities and step into the life you want to be living. I am a compassionate and supportive clinical social worker who connects with you to create a safe space to talk about what’s happened to you. Together we’ll begin to understand the impact of trauma and shame while practicing techniques you can use to live a healthier and happier life.

With over 25 years of experience, I customize your therapy to meet your individual needs using a variety of techniques including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and expressive modalities.

Clients have told me that they leave their first session with a renewed sense of hope. I believe people can overcome their depression and anxiety because I have seen clients do so. To make the first step, simply give me a call or send me an e-mail.
