The University of Pikeville will be closed Thursday, November 27, through Sunday, November 30, for Thanksgiving Break.

Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, December 1.

In Memoriam: Chief Allen Abshire

The University of Pikeville Department of Public Safety joins the campus community in mourning the passing of former Chief Abshire. Chief Abshire served the University with dedication, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

His leadership and mentorship left a lasting mark on many who worked alongside him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chief Abshire will always be remembered as a valued member of the UPIKE family.
