Pascua Yaqui Tribe Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Program PYT Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Program (DPTP) is part of the PYT Health Department DPTP Fitness Center is state of the art.

The Diabetes Program consists of three unique teams that work together to provide Yoeme Community with a wide range of innovative activities and services:

DPTP Outreach provides diabetes prevention, diabetes self management & overall nutritional education to tribal members and their families. Outreach also provides 6 and 16 week education curriculums and Diabetes Conversation Map classes. It includes weights, cardio equipment, an aerobics room, a boxing program and boxing ring, and a teaching kitchen. Fitness also has personal training that includes boot camp sessions and a biking program. DPTP Recreation Center oversees two gyms, several sports fields, outside basketball & volleyball courts, playgrounds & ramadas. There are also two pools and a splash pad for children. They organize many sports leagues, run an after school program, & offer Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) program in the summer.

We’re excited to announce that Team Yaqui will be participating in this year’s El Tour de Tucson cycling event, taking place on November 22, 2025.

Registration for Team Yaqui will be open from October 1st to October 31st — no exceptions! You MUST register on or before October 31st.

Please note that coaches or other representatives cannot register minors on behalf of parents/guardians. This requirement is in place to ensure all liability and consent forms are properly completed.

Tucson Registration:
Location: PYT Wellness Center, 5305 W. Calle Torim
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Closed Sundays)

Guadalupe Registration:
Takes place every Wednesday in October except October 8th.
Location: To be announced soon.
