College students walked away with lots of information to decide their next steps as a health care professional at the Undergraduate Pre-Health Conference last Friday at UAMS Little Rock. Students heard from the five UAMS colleges and graduate school, plus tips from a 7-member UAMS student panel. One piece of advice from a second-year med school student was to have a compelling story for the interview so you can stand out from the crowd. UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

We’re excited to share that the application deadline for the MASH (Medical Applications of Science for Health) program has been extended to April 10th!

This extension gives interested students additional time to complete and submit their applications. Students may print the application using the link below.

Check out the story in the Pine Bluff Commercial on Club Scrub 2, which recently wrapped up six months of hands-on workshops for kids in third through sixth grades, allowing them too explore a variety of health care professions. Graduation is set for April 30 at Jefferson Regional.

The Ivy Center for Education celebrated the completion of its Club Scrub 2: Future Medical Professionals Project, a six-month initiative designed to introduce third- through sixth-grade students to the world of health care careers.

Hands On Healthcare | UAMS South Central

Today’s Hands On Healthcare event was a huge success! Students explored careers in Speech Language Pathology, Nursing, EMS (EMT/Paramedic), and Dental Hygiene through engaging, hands-on experiences.

A special thank you to Tristian Traylor with the Arkansas State Police for an impactful session on teen driver safety and training.

This program was made possible through the collaboration of Tanya Hawkins, UAMS South Central Case Manager, and Danielle Harris, UAMS South Central Education Coordinator, who worked together to bring this experience directly to students

We are incredibly grateful to New Bethel Church Ministries for hosting, and to Ms. Susie Marks, Executive Director of the Arkansas Nurses Association, for an inspiring presentation.

The future of healthcare is in great hands! Today’s students are tomorrow’s difference-makers!
