Apostle Emma Lee Luckett
February 26, 1943 – January 23, 2026
Apostle Emma Lee Luckett, affectionately known as “The Apostle of Love,” was born Emma Lee Smith on February 26, 1943, in Sherrill, Arkansas, to the late Earmer Lee Smith and the late Hawkins Smith, Sr. She transitioned peacefully on January 23, 2026, at 1:44 p.m. at her residence in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
A native of Pine Bluff, Apostle Luckett was raised with strong family values and a deep reverence for faith. She attended Townsend Park School and later pursued higher education at A.M.&N. College, now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she completed two years of study. Education, discipline, and purpose remained guiding principles throughout her life.
Apostle Luckett accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. As a teenager, she attended Pleasant View Ministries. As an adult, prior to answering her call to ministry, she worshiped at Old Saint James Baptist Church. In 1978, she heard the voice of the Lord calling her to preach His Word. After a period of prayer and surrender, she yielded fully to that call. In an era when women were often discouraged from preaching, she stood firm in obedience and walked boldly into her God-appointed assignment.
In June of 1980, Apostle Emma Lee Luckett established Evangelistic Outreach and Ministries, Inc., where she served faithfully as Pastor and Founder. She was also the Founder and Overseer of The Apostolic Prophetic Fellowship of Churches and Ministries. From the inception of the church and throughout her ministry journey, Apostle Luckett faithfully led the work alongside her associate pastor, Apostle Dorothy Campbell, providing spiritual covering and guidance from the church’s establishment through the present day.
Through more than four decades of ministry, Apostle Luckett preached, taught, evangelized, pastored, and served as an apostle, impacting lives locally, nationally, and internationally. Her ministry extended across the United States and into countries including Ghana, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Kenya, the Philippines, and beyond. She provided apostolic covering to pastors, churches, and ministries and was instrumental in launching and guiding spiritual leaders around the world.
Standing faithfully by her side in ministry were her devoted armor bearers, Prophet Alan Tate and Apostle Tracy Shavers. Their loyalty, service, and spiritual strength supported her vision and calling through many seasons of ministry. God worked mightily through Apostle Luckett’s life and ministry. Many testified to healing, deliverance, restoration, and salvation through her obedience and faith. She authored three books, Wounded Children Ye Are Healed, Healing for Marriages, and The Single’s Garden of Gethsemane, along with numerous teaching pamphlets. Her life reflected sacrifice, compassion, and devotion to God’s people.
On July 21, 1963, she married her beloved husband, Theodus Luckett, Jr. Their union of 62 years stood as a powerful witness of commitment, partnership, and faith. Together, they built a legacy rooted in love, prayer, and family. Apostle Luckett was the proud mother of children she loved, nurtured, and claimed as her own. She leaves to a legacy of love to be cherished by her children: Dr. Pamela Luckett-Smith (Kenneth), Dr. Stacy Luckett, Theolanda Luckett-Harrison (Ramon), Lisa Luckett-Fellows (Andrew), Ebony Luckett-Daniels (Andre), Dr. Theodus Luckett III (Karen), Tamela Luckett-Jenkins (Wiley), Shiandra Luckett-Jones, Theoplis “Chase” Luckett, Christine Austin, Tina Beard-Ford, Trina Martin, and Michael Winston. Her love for family extended far beyond biology and reflected covenant, longevity, and devotion.
Through her children, Apostle Luckett leaves a treasured legacy of thirty-seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Their lives stand as living testimony to her prayers, her guidance, and the love she poured into every generation entrusted to her care.
Apostle Luckett was one of nine siblings. Her siblings include the late Mary Christopher, the late Otis McDonald, Cleo Edwards, Hawkins Smith Jr., the late Acie Smith Sr., Georgia Tate (Larry), Betty Watson (Levi), the late Ambrose Madkin (Linda), and Andrew Madkin (Lois).
