💗 Update #2: Home & Healing 💗
Surgery went well, and I’m grateful to be home.
The gallbladder and stuck stone was removed without complications. What they found though was far more serious than expected. I had a large stone completely blocking a bile duct, and my gallbladder was so inflamed that it was close to rupturing.
All together, I was hours away from not being alive today. I’m incredibly grateful I listened to my body and got help when I did.
They were unable to repair the hernias during this procedure because they required mesh for proper support, so that surgery will need to happen later — most likely during my slower work season in November, giving me time to fully heal before competitive gymnastics starts again in January.
Right now, I’m home recovering on my own. I don’t have much energy or movement yet, and it will take time before my body is ready for the level of activity my work requires. I want to return safely, not quickly, so I’m following a gentle, realistic plan to ease myself back in.
Here is the tentative timeline I’ll be using as I heal:
🌿 Recovery & Return‑to‑Work Timeline
Week 1–2 (April 29th to May 11th):
• Rest, pain control, very light walking around the house
• No lifting, twisting, or core strain
• Focus on healing, breathing, and staying stable
Week 3–4 (May 12th to May 25th):
• Short, slow walks
• Light stretching
• Still no work, no classes, no massage
• Energy will come back slowly
Week 4–5 (May 26th to June 9th)
• Part time back in office
• Gentle movement only
• Return to fitness and gymnastics classes with modifications
(no jumping, no twisting, no fast directional changes)
• Light massage work
Week 6–8 (June 10th to June 23rd):
• Gradual increase in activity
• Back to full time classes and office
• Massages depending on strength and stamina
Beginning to Mid-June:
• Goal: Return to regular classes and sessions
• Still pacing myself and avoiding anything that strains the hernias
November to December:
• Hopeful planned hernia mesh repair during my natural work downtime
January:
• Fully healed and ready for competitive gymnastics season

Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and support while I take the time my body needs. I miss everyone and look forward to being back with you in June, stronger and much healthier.
Love,
Debbie 💗
