The people over at Bayer-Monsanto just can't stop lying. There are few corporations that employ more serial liars -- Bayer-Monsanto actually may win the gold medal when it comes to dishonesty. Now, the company is going to be ponying up $6.9 million for violating a 1996 agreement with the state of New York to stop making false claims about the safety of its Roundup weedkiller. Bayer-Monsanto has been caught repeatedly advertising glyphosate-based Roundup products as safe and nontoxic without adequate substantiation, Attorney General Letitia James determined in an investigation that started three years ago. “Once again, Monsanto and the company’s current owner, Bayer, made false and misleading claims about the safety of their products, but we will not allow them to get away with endangering our environment,” James said in a statement.

They told us aspartame, which is genetically engineered, was safe when they brought it to market in 1974. Here we are 45 years later and despite the fact that peer reviewed studies have linked this GMO fake sweetener to a long list of worrying health problems, it's still on the market. More and more substances created with Synthetic Biology (SynBio, for short, and also called “precision fermentation”) are being brought to market, all with little or no safety testing. The GMO fake-meat Impossible Burger, made by the company Impossible Foods, contains 46 new proteins never before consumed in the human diet was created with SynBio. New GMO fake ice creams are entering the market with no labeling (Graeter’s Perfect Indulgence, Brave Robot and Nick’s are a few that use Perfect Day’s GMO synthetic dairy protein). We have synthetic vanilla, synthetic vitamins such as "Quatrefolic" (GMO folate) and many more substances in our food supply that are flying under the radar. This leads us to ask: Will it take us another 45 years to document the devastating health problems created by these GMO fake foods? Do yourself a favor. Avoid all of that junk today, so you don’t get a disease later.

Simply Orange juice might be less simple than they let on. The popular drink, owned by parent company Coca-Cola, is facing a class-action lawsuit that alleges the product contains dangerously high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — toxic chemicals that have been tied with a bevy of health issues.

The lawsuit is centered on the idea of false advertising: since the bottle contains phrases like “all natural ingredients,” “simply natural,” “filtered water” and “nothing to hide,” it’s implying that the product doesn’t contain man-made toxic chemicals and that the company actively filters out toxins. While the lawsuit does not disclose the levels detected, it does say that they are "hundreds of times" over the federal limit. Just AWFUL. What brand of OJ do YOU drink?
