My Story

I first became aware of reflexology at a friends house when she had another friend visiting her. He asked if I would like him to work on my feet and I said sure. After working on my feet he asked if I had any problems with my back and digestion and I was so surprised because yes I did! I was amazed and asked how he knew that and he explained a little bit about reflexology. I thought it sounded wonderful and kind of filed it away only to find out more about it later.

Concerning aromatherapy I was always aware that scents could change my moods and help alleviate sinus problems and headaches but I wasn’t aware it was a whole science. Peppermint always made me feel better and I remember getting up in the morning (and I am not a morning person) and looking forward to using Aveda rosemary-peppermint hair rinse because it woke me up and helped clear away my sinus headache. Yes aromatherapy oils can do that and much more. They even use them in some hospitals now.

Previously I worked at CNN in the Features Library and the main library for many years. At times it was very interesting and at times stressful (breaking news, government corruption, disasters). My favorite parts were working with the Features Unit which included Medical, Science, Nutrition and Travel; doing research, the hard working dedicated employees and working with the CNN World Report Conference of international journalists.

I decided I needed a break from news and stress and took some marvelous classes at the Heal Center with a great teacher Roz Zollinger. These are stressful times and I realized I wanted to help people de-stress and feel better and do something I enjoyed and was good at so I started Amy’s Aromatic Arts. I hope you will come give me a try sometime.
